CARRIE Willow Creek Country Club is a busy piece of green grass these days before summer has really arrived. It seems, though, there are many more men and young men taking advantage of our golfing fa cility. Where are our women?? Our Tuesday evening plays haven't turned out at all as well as we had hoped they would. Judy Rickert and Harriet Evans were the only two that turned out last Tuesday. Guess we women should get a little better organized and get to playing together. No use in letting the men have all the fun -how about it? If you have a family to feed and still want to golf on Tuesday at 5:00, how HMO mm wmmm CUSTOMER APPRECIATION GIFT To Our SubscmbERS OflZIO COIDRPORTWIT Top Quality Professional Studio II M - All Portraits Will Be Taken Locally You Select Final Portrait From Several Poses about putting their dinner in the oven and let them fend for themselves just once a week. They might just enjoy it and so might you. Men's W rdnesday Play The men had a good turn-out Wednesday at 6:00. They are competing for the season by way of what is called "A Ladder". You move either up or down the ladder by either heating your partner, or being beaten by him that evening. Last week in the T-Cl'P the men were warned about playing against the younger fellows. The scores turned in proved the warning was riot amiss. Low gross was won by Bill Jepsen; low net, Gary Hunt and Least putts was a tie between Mike Mills and Gary Hunt. All winners were highschool players. We'll hope some of the other category will show this Wednesday. Heppner (Joes to McNary A group of players went to McNary Golf Course from Heppner Sunday. Condon, Echo. Kinzua, our club and McNary competed. None of the winners' names were turned in to the T-CUP so they can't be reported. Everyone had a good time, in spite of the wind, but the wind blew here at home, also. Montly Letter President, Bob Jepsen sent a letter of pertinent information to all golf club members for the month of June. Please tack this to your bulletin board so you may refer to it often. Invitation to Condon Please notice in your monthly letter that Willow Creek Coun try Club is invited to play with other clubs at Condon on Sunday, June 3rd, 8:30 coffee and T-off at 9:00. Save some gas for the trip - and take along a friend.) High School Use of Golf Course Morrow County High School has been using the golf course a great deal this year and that is just the way it should be. Eveyone is glad to have them down there, playing golf and enjoying themselves. Students vs Faculty Thursday the student golfers challenged the faculty golfers to ' a game, which proved to be a very interesting affair. 12 students and 12 faculty took part. At the end of 9 holes, the teams were "even-steven" scorewise, so they played an other 2 holes, at which time the faculty came out on top. Probably a lot of "pressing" by both sides was used for the win. II.
