Changes Loau Proceedures Columbia Electric Co-op has received notice of changes in me loan proc-ruu. n of their own financing organi zation, National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corpora tion, known as C.F.C. Manager, David Harrison, states that Columbia Basin has invested $93.91 1.00, over three years, in C.F.C. toward seed capital. It will be required to continue investing funds annually-for the next 12 years. A new formula for the annual contributions has been established. They will require 1.2 percent of the annual operating revenues with a deduction of the average power cost nationally for Rural Elec tric Coops. Last year the average was 45.4 percent. Formerly a straight 40 percent average power cost deduction was utilized. 17"'""'"' - ' v-'. I ' - d Jl y Mill y i il j I BRIT m PIKIOLE 676-9228 in nor tf lane .,w. . (Rural Electrification Administration loans for additional funds need ed by local Rural Electric Co-ops. Columbia Basin received 10 percent of the last loan from C.F.C. at 7.5 percent Interest. The REA portion of the last loan was at 2 percent. The next loan would have been at 20 percent C.F.C. financing. Under the C.F.C. plan, many R.E.C.'s had 30 percent C.F.C. financing. For those Rural Electrics in very dense population areas mid high revenue areas only C.F.C. financing was available, and no REA financing available to them. According to Dave Harrison, local R.E.C. manager, it is not known what the effect of the recent action of the Admini stration in eliminating REA loans will be on the compara tively small amount of C.F.C. funds available.
