Best Brown: Todd Harrison, Lex ington, first , RACING Dl'E SEITEMHER 2 I'matilla Motor speedway's exciting second full jalopy destruction derby program unfolds on the quarter-mile oval Saturday night (Sept. 2) and it'll be a lulu. More than 30 cars from throughout the Northwest will be in competition, including a batch of the best that Portland has to offer. The lure is the $.100 and huge trophy that's guaranteed the winner of the destruction derby finale, which caps a giant 8-event program that includes trophy dashes, heats and a pair of mains. Area entrants include Bob Ployher, Leonard and Ted Toll, Heppner, Dave Khano yan, Boardman and Tom White, lone. Gales open at Umatifla at 6:30, time trials start at 7 and racing begins at 8:30, with regular track admission pri ces prevailing. THE OREGON COW BELLES are serving on a committee with representa tives of the Beef Council and Cattlemen's Association in trying to determine a proper beef exhibit for the agricul tural wing, Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, in Port land. More than 500,000 people visit OMSI each year. Half of these are school children on conducted tours.
