The Indians are in first place with a 2-win, no-loss record. Braves are in second, 2-wins, 1-loss; Giants, third with 1-2; and the Dodgers are in fourth place with no wins and 2 losses. The Braves won the first game of the double-header that was played in lone June 10. Dennis Peck pitched four innings; Jerry Cutsforth and Curtis Sweek each pitched one to help lead the Braves to a win over the Dodgers. David Allstott pitched all six innings for the Dodgers, but that was not enough to stop the win. The Indians beat the Giants in the second game of the af ternoon, 8-3, continuing their record of no losses to the Giants. Dan McElligott pitched three innings for the Indians, Dennis Stefani, two; and Frankie Engelman, one. Randy Worden and Dale Hol land pitched for the Giants. The Indians and the Dodgers were scheduled to play June 8, but the game was rained out, and has not yet been played. MORROW COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT F-i. Morrow CountySchool Dist rict R-l Board will meet June 19 at 8:00 p.m. at the District Office in Lexington. This is an open meeting and patrons of the district are invited to attend. The Board will consider resignations, approve con tracts for new personnel, hire classified employees, approve board meeting calen dar for 1972-73, consider or dering driver training cars for 1972-73 and authorize clerk's bonds. They will instruct the Deputy Clerk to balance books and call for an nual audit, authorize call for bids on service bids, bulk gasoline, fuel oil, anti-freeze, contract runs, etc. Consider request to pur chase building lot in Board man and elect chairman and vice-chairman for 1972-73 year. Reports will be heard on the summer maintenance on teacherages by Mr. Da niels. He will pick up two courses he needs for his superinten dent's certification in Idaho. Techniques were demonstra ted for mountain climbing, under water recovery, snow rescueand land search. Don was most im pressed with the paramedics rescue of the stranded boatman in the middle of Prinevllle Lake. The Mountain climbers show ed techniques for workiugaround the rimrocks and canyons. Classes in survival, medical care, communications and va rious searching techniques were taught. Each technique was demon strated by rescue specialists. From the Court, they interviewed Pat Brindle and inspected re cords for the past three years. conference Mrs. W.W. Weatherfordand the Rev. Ed Cutting were the official delegates from the Heppner United Methodist Church to the annual church conference in Salem last week. Also down for the sessions were Mrs. Cutting and Mrs. Grace Drake. Enroute home Mrs. Weath erford stopped in Prinevllle for an overnight stay with Mr. Weatherford's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. George Newell. From their home on a hill, they watched the storm that later hit in Morrow County. Mr. Newell, retired Air Force, is a candidate for Crook County Commissioner.
