Charles Doherty will serve as adju tant and John Jepsen as chap lain. Bill Rietmannwas elect ed to serve as sergeant-at-arms and Joel Engelman will be historian. New Cake and Frosting Recipe For the 1972 CAKE BAKING CONTEST Oregon Wheat Growers League Domestic Wheat Utilization Committee MRS. CARL MARQUARDT, Morrow County Chairman This is a standard recipe that must be used by All Contestants APPLESAUCE CAKE Sift together 4 cups all purpose flour 4 tsp. soda 1 14 tsp. salt 2 tsp. cinnamon V-2 tsp. nutmeg '-2 tsp. cloves 2 Tablespoons cocoa Combine and beat well 1 cup veg etable oil and 2 cups sugar Stir in 3 cups un sweetened apple sauce (heated) Add: dry ingred ients and mix well. Stir in : VL cup rais ins and Va CUP walnuts Put batter in 3 9-inch cake pans. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes, then reduce temperature to 375 degrees and bake 15 minutwmore. BROWN SUGAR FROSTING 34 cup margarine y2 tsp. salt melted IV2 cup brown sugar Boil over medium heat for 2 minutes. Add 13 cup milk. Return to heat and bring to full boil.
