Because he spoke the language of the countries be became friends with the local people who invited him into their homes. He found that people of different countries will con gregate In resort cities to gether. When he was travel ing In Yugoslavia be found he was much better re ceived when he spoke French rather than German. Those people have bitter memories of German occupation. He found Spain had loosen ed up since his last visit there In 1957. There are fewer police. People are laughing again. He found the streets that were too narrow for cars very safe places to walk. Otherwise he says" the drivers are wild." Wales was very beautiful as was Amsterdam although the canals there are very dirty. Randall Peterson won the Dot. NRA HONORS TWO PERFORMERS Harry Noble and Bob Cons forth of Hermlston were both honored recently at a ban quet In The Dalles by the Northwest Rodeo Association when they were presented with the saddles they won last year. Noble won the saddle bronc championship for the third year and Con forth the all around cham pion cowboy for two years. Besides the saddles they re ceived sterling silver buckles studded with rubles. Noble is retiring as saddle bronc riding director after three years. Conforth Is bull riding director, helping with the high school rodeo clubs in this area.
