County Gets Road Money Morrow County with 4511 registered motor vehicles (about as many cars as people) will share in highway-user tax funds distributed to the counties by the State Highway Commission. They are sending out $6,143, 319.75 to the 36 counties. Morrow County will get $10, 239.40. Funds come from motor ve hicle registration and operator's license fees, gas tax, use fuel tax. motor carrier fees, and fines from violations of size and weight statutes. Leaders who itemize deduc tions may include among con tributions the cost of gasoline or mileage, and other out-of-pocket expenses connected with 4-H leadership, including at tending training and 4-H confer ences. They may not, however, claim deductions for time or work contributed. Forms with explanations may be obtained from post offices, banks, state or federal tax of fices, accountants, and other places. Taxes provide the revenue needed for costs of public ser vices and facilities. 4-H'ers learn to be responsible citizens early as they file income tax returns! N. M., the daughter of Michael C. Corrl gan and Ludnda Light She was united In marriage to Albert Weems on Feb. 28. 1928 at Marcla, N. M. Besides her husband. I The program will be led by four Extension Specialists from Oregon State University. Dr. Harold Youngberg will discuss pasture establishment tech niques, adapted varieties and fertilizer recommendations. Dr. Jim Vomocil will cover ir rigation scheduling and water management. Dr. John Landers will talk on livestock utilization of the for age. Dr. Gene Nelson will discuss the economic possibilities of ir rigated pasture, I.e. expected returns and estimated costs from this enterprise. The program leaders will use two examples . , . one a center-pivot system on sandy soils and a wheel roll system on the finer textured soils. Arrangements for noon lunch will be up to the participants at the local restaurants. Coffee will be served at the meetings. The program will end about 3:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
