conducted in all states, except
Hawaii and Alaska, to gather

hogs, chickens, and wheat acre
age. Those farmers contacted by
the locally-hired enumerators
are a cross-section of the Na
tion's producers. Their reports
provide USDA with valuable ma
terial for estimates on agricul
ture. All information on individual
farms Is kept confidential.
