The board will meet with the Fair Board to map out the financial obligations of the two groups. Mr. Daniels noted the signif leant Increase In enrollment at A. C. Houghton as well as nt Riverside High. Anticipation for an increase next year will fig ure in the budget. With 29 enrolled in the first grade at A. C. Houghton, the board approved a contract for Geneva Coker as the second teacher for that grade. She has Just moved into Oregon from Oklahoma. Her salary for the balance of the year is $6270. The board also hired a part time Girls' sports PE and activ ities aide. Paulette Eartee, at Riverside High at $552 for the year. Jim Barnett resigned from his school bus run out of lone and the board hired Dorothy Stefan! to take -his run, the Kinzer Holtz run. Appointments The board appointed Ken Turner to the Long Range Plan ning Committee in place of Dr. Wolff who now serves on the school board and Dick Sargent Shorly before school started he and Kathleen Sue Anderson were married in Fresno. He likes to hunt and fish and while Kathleen has never done them before, she is learning and I ves to be out. They both like read and Ray enjoys his tape recorder, espi-cially enjoys recording western music. The mem ber felt they were not in the Real Estate business and should sell the lot at the going price of lots in the area. The lot had been held in case the district should at sometime need to pro vide more teacher housing. Future Meeting Several board members plan to attend the OSBA Convention in Portland Nov. 7-9. He ha a different back ground than most of the fac ulty. lie is from New Jersey. He came west l' year ago to visit relative in California. He likes the wide oicn spam: of the west and so he stayed. He teaehe Spanish and Mod ern Problems at lleppner High School. He traveled considerably when he spent two years in the Army in Europe. This past sum mer he spent two months in the countrysides of Eurojie. He made it a point to stay away from the big cities. He made his way hy hitchhiking, trains, busses and boats. Because he speaks four languages he found no language barrier ami on many occasion wa welcomed Into homes. Tills he liked a he learned to know the people a they are away from tourist al traction. He speak Spanish, French, Italian and German. He especially enjoyed hi transpor tation by bout. Of the 10 coun tries he visited last summer he liked hi visit in Yugoslavia the most. He hopes to go back to spend more time enjoying their beautiful scenery and friendly people. He likes camping, fish ing, plays the accordion for his own amusement and painting. Heppner CU Lod? Failure to convert the extra point attempts proved to be the difference in the game. Both ims scored two touchdowns Condon was able to score on the PAT attempts. Heppner did not. Mike Bergstrom scored both Heppner TDs. One came on a 70-yard scramble, the other 'Bull In a China Shop' First Drama of Year Set for Nov. 19-20 A comedy -mystery, "Bull in a China Shop", has been chosen for the first production of the Heppner Drama Club on Nov. 19-20 at Heppner High School. The play, originally a short story, was presented on the TV series "Alfred Hitchcock Pre sents", several years ago. It has since been presented as a pop ular play in high chools and has been presented throughout the country. Fernando Lara, lab technician at PiPoneer Memorial Hospital, who has had much experience in Little Theatre, will direct the play. Mrs. Jane Rawlins, Eng lish teacher at Heppner High will be assistant director, and various members of the com munity theater will be in charge of different parts of the produc tion. The cast will be Greg David son as detective Dennis O'Finn; i Jim Van Winkle as O Finns sidekick; Mary and Liz Abrams, Dianne Mills, Donna Raymond. Tami Meadir, and Kellie Kilken ny as the boarders; Tricia Prock as the news reporter; and Bar ry Munkers as the finger print detective.. Anita Davidson, Publicity replaces Robert Jones who is from 25 yards out. The other lleppner points came on a saie ty as Tracy Wilson tackled a Condon runner in the end zone. Injuries took their toll for the locals as ' Mike. Bcrgstrom and Ken Eckman were both forced to leave the came. Both were hospitalized for mild concus sion. After a good night both boys were.
