Under tho direction of volun teer udult leaders, Nancy Myers of Pine City and Jane Mi Rob erts of Heppner, 4 11 leather craft members learn not only how to change leather Into dec orative and useful articles, but also about the history, selection, care and value of leather. The 411 leathereraft project, which last year attracted Mor row County members Is divid ed into seven phases, starting with the basic tools necessary in leuther carving, and become increasingly sophisticated. As the 4-H member moves through the leathereraft project, he will learn edging and lacing techniques, background dyeing, figure carving, and other skills used in leatheiworking. Tho leathereraft project is de signed so that the 4-H member may advance nt his own speed. All phases, except the begin ning one, may ie rcpumvu second year.
