Notice is hereby given that at
the Irrigon Rural Fire Protection
District special election hereby
called to be held on Tuesday,
the 20th day of July, 1971, be
tween the hours of 8:00 A.M.
and 8:00 P.M. Pacific Daylight
Time, in and for the Irrigon
Rural Fire Protection District
there will be submitted to the
qualified voters thereof the
question of authorizing a serial
tax levy for the Irrigon Rural
Fire Protection District In the
sum of $5,700.00 annually pur
suant to Section 11, Article XI
of the Oregon Constitution, to
be effective for the fiscal year
beginning July 1. 1971. The votes
shall be by ballot in substan
tially the following form:

THE IRRIGON RURAL FIRE
PROTECTION DISTRICT
Measure No. 1: Shall the Board
of Directors of the Irrigon
Rural Fire Protection District
be authorized to make a ser
ial tax levy in the amount of
$5,700.00 for the fiscal year
1971-1972 for the purpose of
purchasing equipment and op
erational costs.
These proposed taxes are out
side and in addition to the
limitation imposed by Section
11 of Article XI of the Ore
gon Constitution.
The maximum rate of levy
deemed necessary to raise
FIVE THOUSAND SEVEN
HUNDRED DOLLARS ($5,700..
00) is the sum THREE DOL
LARS PER THOUSAND ($3.00
per $1,000.00) of true cash
value of taxable property
within the district.
The voter shall place an (X)
or () before the words "Yes,
I vote for the serial levy" or
before the words "No, I vote
against the serial levy" to
signify choice.
( ) YES, I vote for the serial
levy.
( ) No, I vote against the
serial levy.
The election is to be held at
the old Irrigon School in the
basement. The polls shall be
open at the hour of 8:00 A.M.
and remain open until the hour
of 8:00 P.M. of the same day,
at which time the polls will be
closed.

paving Bomber Range road
from the Irrigon Junction south
approximately 10 miles.
This notice is given in com
pliance with federal regulations
and state statutes pertaining to
this type of proposal whereby
it is required that public no
tice be given to enable inter
ested persons to request a hear
ing on the proposal. .
Any interested citizen may re
quest that a public hearing be
held covering the social, eco
nomic, and environmental ef
fects of the proposed location
and design for this highway
project by delivering a written
request ti the Morrow County
Court on or before Aug. 5,
1971.
In the event such a request
Is received, a public hearing
will be scheduled and adequate
notice will be publicized regard
ing the date and location of
the hearing.
