J;llum Inc. of Pendleton has completed tho oiling contract for the City of Irrlgon and has mov ed his equipment elsewhere. Almost all of the streets north of tho highway which can be travelled, unci which were not previously surfaced, were in cluded in the project. SHOO lin- i eal feet were oiled as well as 3200 feet of Intersection radius for a total of 11,100 feet of new : surface. Guests at the E. A. Stephens home over the Memorial Day weekend were their son, Mr. and Mrs. J.i-e Stephens and family of Portland, their daughter and son in l.iw. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Parks and family of Portland and their son, Mr. and Mrs, Clark Stephens and family of Umatilla. Little League Little League baseball action for the past week saw tho B & I Bombers win over Echo, 21 to 7 in the minors. Stanfield beat the B & I Bobcats 14 to 12 and Stan field tie the B & I Bombers 14 all. A game scheduled for the 28 between B & I Bobcats and Stanfield Hardware was cancel led. Only 1 game was played in the Major League the past week when the B & I Cubs edged out Umatilla 8 to 7. A game was forfeited to B & I Cubs when Hi Ho of Stanfield failed to show. Minor League games schedul ed are: B & I Bombers vs. B & I Bobcats June 5 at Boardman; Umatilla vs B & I Bombers June 7 at Umatilla; B & I Bobcats vs. Echo (double header) June 7 at Echo; B & I Bombers vs. Echo June 11 at Irrigon. The evening service was dismissed and several at tended the Assembly of God at Umatilla for the evening serv ice. Weekend guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Al Partlow and Sheryl were Mr. and Mrs. Jay Berry and Miss Snow McCoy of Portland and Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Jancura of Seattle.
