An archway covered in the same design led into the gym, and in front of the stage, silver covered steps held bouquets of real flowers. King of the Prom was Mike Col lins; Queen was Carley Bergs trom; Prince was Peter McElli gott; and Princess was Jeri Snow. The dance program was a cover of red embossed felt with a painted white rose and tied with white cording. Break fast was served at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Barnett. Mothers were welcomed by Marianne Pettyjohn. The Choralettes ac companied by Darrell James sang a number. Cherl Carlson was narrator, and 17 girls mod eled the dresses they wore to the Prom. The Choralettes sang another number, followed by a clever skit, "What My Mommy Means To Me" put on by 16 girls. The young ladles then served the Mother's cake and punch, and Marianne Pettyjohn gave the closing remarks Mrs. Frances Mitchell and Charlotte Griffith from Portland spent the weeeknd at the George Griffith home at Cecil. David Tucker, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Tucker broke his ankle last week while playing baseball on the school diamond, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Martin, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Howton, and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Nelson, Jr., re turned last week from a trip to the Holy Land. The experiences of their trip will be written up next week. Mrs. Linea Nottage from Port land is visiting at the home of Carl Troedson. Guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy W. Gary Carr Takes Pinewood Derby Final Gary Carr of Cub Scout Den 2 ran the champion Pinewood racer in the finals May 6 at the Elks Club. Kirk Sager of Den 5 was second The Elks club furnished the pinewood kits to each of the 40 some Cub Scouts. The kits in eluded the piece of pinewood, wheels and nails. The boys carved the racer to be 7 inches lone 2- inches wide and couldn't weigh over 5 ozs. Gary added a small windshield, steer ing wheel and numeral 26 to his red racer. The two boys received small trophies presented by Cat bher man, Exalted Ruler. Marion Green, Boy Scout com mittee chairman, set up the race run -off by Leonard Toll as starter and Dave McLeod at the finish. All of the 1st and 2nd place winners in the Den races com peted.
