Evangelists Slated For Boardman f MAST LEE MARLOW BOARDMAN Ttio Boardman Community Church will present thi) Fautenberry Family the wt'k of Feb. 1419, starting with the morning services Sunday, Feb. 14. They are a musical fimlly with "Small Church Evangelism", and hold meetings all over the country In rural communities. On the Road Again On the road again the Hepp ner Mustangs will travel to Condon to face the Blue Devils on Feb. 12. We have played them twice this season and have split the totals. Coach Hough said the Devils will be a tough team, but admitted that they are always tough. They are well balanced team and can hit well from the foul line. The Broncs lost to Condon 56-60. Free Diabetes Surrey Planned A community detection survey to find unknown cases of dia betes is planned for Morrow County, according to Dr. L. D. Tibbies, County Health Officer. The blood testing program I will be conducted at Heppner Bank Assn. County Health Department with the assistance of the Oregon State Board of Health. Doctor Tibbies said, "We are particularly inter ested in testing -tnose persons who are either overweight, over age 40, blood relatives of a known diabetic, or are mothers who have had .babies weighing 9-pounds or more at birth". These are the so called "High Risk" persons, who are most apt to have diabetes and not know it. According to Dr. Tibbies, "Un known and untreated diabetes is potentially a disease condit ion which can lead to blind ness, heart and blood vessel dis ease, chronic infections and ev en death". Diabetics who discov er their disease early can us ually be treated successfully and lead a fairly normal life with few, if any, restrictions on their daily work or recreational activities. The clinics will be under the direction of Morrow County Health Officer, Dr. L. D. Tib bies, assisted by Mrs. Lowell Chally, R. N. and volunteers. The schedule Is as follows: HHS JV's Outscored In Overtime 64-62 By BOB PLOYHAR The McEwen JV's claimed a 64-62 overtime victory over the Baby Mustangs here last Fri day. After getting a slow start In the first quarter, Heppner seem ed to hold the upper hand with a 1917 half-time advantage. At the end of the third period, they had widened their lead to four points. In the fourth quarter, McEwen fired up and took a six point load with a little over a min ute remaining. Tho Baby Mus tangs fought back and Bruce Bergstrom's last second free throw tied the score at 57-all tn nut the name into overtime. McEwen then scrambled for 7 to top the Horsemen by 2 in the three minute bonus. Free throws, as usual, proved to be fatal for Heppner as they made 12 for 31.
