Cindy spent one week here while the other two girls were here for an ex tra week. Their parnls. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Sparks came for the girls this past weekend Louis Lorengel has been hos pitallzed this past week at Physicians and Surgeons Hospl tal in Portland. Mrs. Wilma Ma be spent sev eral days of last week visiting in Portland with Mr. and Mrs. James Cloud and with Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Sizemore. Mrs. Omar Stubblefield Is in St. Joseph's Hospital in La Grande where she underwent major surgery last week. She is reported to be doing very well Miss Debbi McKenny of Port' land is spending the week as a houseguest of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Bell and family. Mr. and Mrs. John Weaser left Monday for a vacation trip to Hood River, Portland, and to Bend. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Saddler returned home Sunday from a week's trip to King City, Calif., where they visited with Sgt. and Mrs. Marvin Saddler and Vicki. Mr. and Mrs. Harold William son are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arlet Campbell and Andrea. The Williamson's have been touring California and Colorado. Mr. and Mrs. James Hulett and Southern California where they visited Disneyland. Mr. and Mrs. Milt Morlng re turned home Sunday after hav ing spent the past week visit ing with friends and relatives In Oregon and in Weed and Marysville, Calif. At DeMeritts Mr. and Mrs. D. Leslie and family of Aberdeen, Wn., visit ed last Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. Frank DeMeritt. The Los lie's are former residents of Camp 5. Mr. and Mrs. Denzll White took their daughter Susan to Es tacada last week where she will be employed for the summer by Mr. ana Mrs. Don Durgener. Su sans' school friends may write to her at Box 303, Estacada, Ore gon 97023. Mr. and Mrs. Ray O'Neall and family were in Kennewlck last weekend on business. Visiting last week at the Dean Wimers were Muriel Windon and Irma Trletsch of Can by. These are sisters of Mrs. Wimer. Also there were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Wimer of Aurora. On this Mon day, Mrs. Wimer and Kevin went to Hermlston to bring home Mr. wimer from Good Shepherd Hospital where he has been re cuperating from a heart attack. Mr. and Mrs. Denzll White went to Estacada Saturday to visit their daughter Susan and with Denzil's mother, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Sills. In Hermlston they visited Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Hot lomon and daughter and with Mr. and Mrs. Roger Hullomon of Mllton-Freewater. Miss Karen Mortlmore went to Mitchell Monday of lust week to visit with Miss Sue Cherry. Karen then went on to Twlck enham to the Howard Mortlmore ranch and on Friday went Princville to bring home her grandmother from the Pioneer Memorial HuKuitul ttliC'io si". had been having treatment for the flu. During this week,, the Mortlmore boys Roger and Earl viiilted at Umatilla with Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Graham. Homer Grogan of Weston was a recent visitor with Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Sharp. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Jones and Bobby were In Baker last week where they attended the funer al of Mrs. Jones uncle, Claude Turner. While there they visit ed with friends and relatives, Frank DeMeritt went to Hepp ner June 2 to bring home Mrs DeMeritt who had spent the past month In the Heppner hos pital. Earl Non-U' Co Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Earl Norrls re turned home Sunday from a two week's trip that took them to Spanaway, Wn., where they vis ited with Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Norrls and son, to Oregon City to visit with Lois Carpenter, to Roseburg to visit with the Wal ter Bastians and Larry Stump ers, to Mccioud, caiir., to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Ap person and son, to Prineville to visit with Mr. and Mrs. red Norris and the Frank Ferrels and for Carol to have medical care. They then flew home and drove to Stanfield to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Hamilton and with Mr. and Mrs. Lee Zim mer (Joan Hamilton) and then on to Post Falls, Idaho to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Rusty Med lock and family and to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Box. While at Rose burg, they attended a picnic at Susan Creek and among those present were the Walter Bas tians, Larry Stumers, Bob Kyles and family, Wayne Cox's, Bill Stephens, Ron Ray's, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Harmon and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Doughtery, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Persinger, Bill Herman, Kitty Salinger, Nancy Hunt, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Shel ton, Mrs. David Sitton and dau ghter Debbi of Fossil, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Britt and Donna of Spray. There were 9 students and two adults who were making the 7 day trip. We stopped first at Biggs Junction for gas and to rest. Then went to The Dalles for lunch. After Bonneville we stopped at Multnomah Falls. From there we went on to Portland and to our motel, where we planned to stay until Saturday. Tuesday morning we got up early, had our breakfast and went to visit the Grandma Cookie Co. Then we went shopping at Lloyd Center where we were told there were 150 stores. Next we went shopping at the Import Plaza. After that we went to the Airport and saw 2 Army jets and 2 passenger planes take off. Wednesday morning we went to KOIN TV station. It was real interesting. Then we went to the Portland docks and saw the U. S. S. Rash er. It was a submarine made in World War II. We also saw the Bralne. It had Just come in the day before. Then we went to the Colum bia Helicopter and then to our motel for supper and a movie. On Thursday we went to the MJB Coffee Company, and then to the zoo and OMSI. On Friday we went to the Pen dleton Woolen Mills and the shirt making company. Saturday we left Portland and went to the Tillamook Cheese factory and then to Lincoln City on the coast. We stayed there Saturday night. Sunday we left Lincoln City and drove to Salem where we visited the Capitol. Then we re turned to Spray. We all enjoyed' the trip very much. Making the trip were Sherrill and Mike Adams, Nita Asher Donita Griffith, Rick Robison, Bill Adams, Verna Britt, Debbie Britt and Shirley Junkhe. The adults were Mr. Edward Shanks our superintendent and Mrs. Pat Adams, our teacher aide. Fntner Dan Thompson is new rector of All Saints' Episcopal pppner. The Thompsons came here from Missoula, Mont., where he was associate rector of Holy Splr It Parish. They are not newcom er to Eastern Oregon, however; both were born and reared In the Klamath Falls area. miner Tnompson received a degree In education from South em Oregon College and taught in elementary schools of Klam Mh County for six years before attending Episcopal Theological School in Cambridge, Mass. Dan likes Eastern Oregon which he has long appreciated for its recreational opportuniteis. He and his wife hoe to have time for their hobbies of hunt ing, fishing, horses, Indian arti facts and local history. Trout Plants Last fish plants of the season were made Tuesday In Morrow County. A thousand 10 Inch trout were planted In each plae at Cutsforth Pond, Willow Creek and Rhea Creek. Conduct Services At Hospital The Methodists were respoiisl- ble for the worship service at Pioneer Memorial Hospital Sun day afternoon. Adding much to the service were 12 young sing ers who sang during the service conducted by the Rev. Ed Cutting. Boardman News Weight Users The six member of the Waist Away Tops Club lost a total of 14 pounds last week. The club meets each Tuesday at the home of Mrs. Chub Warren. Anyone Interested in losing weight and joining the club may contact Mrs. Harold Rash at 481-4141. Berl Akers Installed The 97th session of the Ore gon State Grange is underway at Hood River. Installation cere monies are due this week for the new State officers. Elected as Gatekeeper this year Is Berl Akers of lone. There will ne Detter benches, new light fixtures and new plumbing fixtures. SA (SU) James L. Everhart ar rived in Heppner Friday for a two week leave. He Is enroute to his new station at Vallejo, Cal., after graduation from submarine school at Groton, Conn. He will be stationed aboard the USS Pin ado, a fast attack submarine, now in dry dock. He will visit his parents, the Floyd Everharts on his leave. Rev. and Mrs. Ed Cutting and Mrs. W. W. Weatherford are leaving this week for Nampa to attend the Oregon-Idaho Annual Conference of the Methodist Church. Sessions will be held June 17 to June 21.
