The Kindergarten children visited the Klrst Grade during the last week of school. Loans Up at First National In response to a call for state ments of condition by the U. S. Comptroller of Currency, depos it and loan figures have been released by Klrst National Bank of Oregon's 119 offices through out the state. President Ralph J. Voss an nounced deposits totaled $1,508, 972,230 on April 30, the official call date. Loans outstanding were $1,031,674,695. Deposits a year ago totaled $1,635,600,275. while loans were $1,106,911,095. The Heppner branch reported deposits of $6,311,541 and loans of $6,127,775 as of April 30, ac cording to Harley Sager, mana ger. Four Home Runs in Monday Little League Clayton Wilson slammed in two home runs for the Giants Monday night in their game with the Braves. Paul Van Mar ter and Steve Malcom made their first home runs of the sea son in the same game. Dennis reck pitched the entire six innings for the Braves and David McLnchlan was catcher. Pitching for the Giants were Jack Yocom, Delbert Turner and Allen Burkenbino. Craig Robin son was catcher. Tiie final score was 46 to 12 for the Braves. Husbands and members were also guests. Mrs. Johnson was presented with an Owl bank stuffed with dol lar bills. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson, Chris and John came from Coquille nine years ago when Mr. John son was transferred here as ap praiser. Since thev have been here Mr. Johnson has been active with Little League, Chamber of Com merce and the Methodist Church. Mrs. Johnson has been an ac tive Soroptimist and has work ed for First National, Morrow County Abstract and Title Co. and for Dr. Wolff. Mr. Johnson's interest in base ball goes back a long ways. He was playing professional base ball when he met Joyce at uaa- sden, Ala. He believes in play ing baseball for fun and boys shouldn't be pressured into play ing Little League except ior iun.
