Soroptimists Plan Initiation for 3 Final plans for the Jan. 29 initiation ceremonies were made at Thursday's Soroptlmist lunch eon meeting at the Wagon Wheel. The 7 o'clock dinner and initiation of Marlene Bergatrom. Mary Eleanor Gilman and Dor othy Heard will be held at the home of Joan Hughes. Members are reminded to bring their green stamp book as the price of "admission". The stamps wlU be used to purchase a portable hair dryer. The dryer will be used In the "Hair-Do" project Each Satur day Bettie Doherty and Alice So ward go to the hospital to give a shampoo and set to four of the women In the Nursing Home. It was reported the wom en look forward to these sea- sions with much pleasure. Preliminary plans are being made for the Feb. 14 party at the Nursing Home. Blue Birds will attend to pass out the gifts and favors. The Feb. 5 meeting of the Soroptimists will be held at the conference room of the Gilliam & . Bis bee Bldg. The casserole will be furnished. Open House Sunday For George Lucianis Friends are cordially invited to an Open House Sunday from 2 until 4 p.m. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Lucianl on Butter Creek. HAL SUNDAY, the former Nonda Clark, with Patrick Clark, who was ring bearer at their wedding dur ing the Holidays. Nonda Clark, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Barton Clark became the bride of Hal Eugene Sun day, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dar win Sunday at a winter holi day wedding Doc. 28 at the All Saints' Episcopal Church, Hepp ner. The Rev. Dirk Rinohart read the double ring ceremony. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a flowing princess style gown of sculptur ed velvet. The dress was fash ioned with a high neckline in front dipping to a V in back with selfbound and shaped streamers that formed the train. Her full length illusion veil was held in place with a double sat in bow headpiece. She carried a crescent shaped bouquet of white gladioli accented with sil ver ribbon. For luck she carried a six-pence in her shoe and wore the traditional blue garter. Her attendants were Maralee Trotter, matron of honor from Corvallis and bridesmaids were Bonnie Hanna her roommate from Myrtle Creek and Carol Rawlins of Heppner. They wore floor length empire style gowns of turquoise velveteen. They car ried topiary calls or wnite car nations, turquoise net tufts and silver bows. Sal Lo Franco, San Jose, was hpst man. Ushers were Jeff Kroner of McMinnville and Tom Sutro of Los Angeles, both of whom are fraternity brothers of the bridegroom. Patrick Clark, nephew of the bride was ring bearer. Mrs. Dirk Rinehart played the nuptial marches as well as mu sical numbers preceding the ceremony. The altar flowers were turquoise carnations and there were white bows on the pews. Reception Follows The turquoise and silver col ors were also carried out at the reception with Christmas ever greens as the background. After the young couple cut the traditional first piece of the wedding cake it was cut and served by Mrs. Harold Wright of Heppner and Mrs. Earl McKen ney of Hermiston. Pouring were Mrs. Ned Clark, sister-in-law of the bride and Mrs. Jerry Sun day, sister-in-law of the bride groom. Attending the gift table were Marsha Soweu and Fran ces Abrams, and Elizabeth Ab rams was In charge of the guest book. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Clark wore a royal blue dress ensemble with matching blue velvet hat Mrs. Sunday wore an emerald green coat style dress with matching veil hat. They wore corsages of white carnations with silver. For golng-away the bride chose a dark brown wool pants suit with brown accessories and tangerine carnation corsage. Fol lowing a short wedding trip the couple is at home at 915 Rum mel St., McMinnville where both are students at Llnfleld College. The bridegroom is also working in management training at Shakeys in Portland. Catching the bride's bouquet was Bonnie Hanna, the brides maid, and the best man caught the "blue garter"! DOTS JOTS Justine Weatherford called last week to say this Is a mixed up place. She went out to watch a big flock of birds flying south. In so doing her attention was focused on the PopUr trees with swollen buds Just ready to pop Now she wants to know which Is smarter, the birds or the tree? Happy birthday to Jeff Huston on Jan. 31. He Is an excited al-most-six year old. It just so hap pens that on Sunday he'll be putting in his six pennies at church the same time his good friend the Rev.
