Mr. and Mrs. Elby Akers and Danny visited In Portland over the Christmas holidays with their daughter and family, Mrs. Darlcene Catenas. They also vis ited with Leslie Madden. They brought their grandson Kenny home for a week's visit. The family was pleasant ly surprised In the evening v hen they rerelved a call from T !r. and Mrs. Ellis Ball of Pan ama City, Fla. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Ball and family had Christmas dinner at the home of her parents, Mr. rnd Mrs. Ellis retryjonn 01 Ileppner. Mr. and Mrs. David Barnett and son Seott of Everett, wn, are visiting over the holidays with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Kay Barnett. Joining the family for Christmas dinner was Mrs. Harnett's brother, Bill Logan of Arlington. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Barnett ac companied their son Jim and daughter DecAnn to Portland Tuesday and Wednesday of last week to visit with Mrs. Floyd Barnett of Eureka, Calif. They gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Barnett In Port land. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Havekost of Irrigon visited at the home of their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Barnett on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Edmond Bristow and Don spent Chlrstmas day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Er nest McCabe and family In Ileppner. Their granddaughter Laurie returned home with them for a few day's visit. Mr. and Mrs. Skinny Ellis were hostesses for Christmas dinner for Mr. and Mrs. Gene Grablll and Mrs. Ida Grabill. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Engleman and Frankie and Mr. and Mrs. Lester Davis of Umatilla, Al and Eddie Wlnkleman were Christ mas guests at the home of Mrs. Blaine Chapel and Cassy. At Wedding Mrs. Delslc Chapel and Cassy and Mrs. Joe Engleman attend ed the Nonda Clark wedding In Heppner on Sunday. Also at tending from lone were Sandy and Cheri Carlson and Jane Krebs. Mrs. Ida Coleman visited In Portland over the holiday with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Crawford. She re turned home on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Crum, Cathy, Montie and Bob spent Christmas in The Dalles at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Strahm. Also present were her brothers and families, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Strahm and Mr. and Mrs. Vern Strahm, all of The Dalles. The Crum fam ily also visited with Mr. Crum's mother, Mrs. Grace Crum and his sister Charlotte Crum, also of The Dalles. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Turner and family, Montie and Mike were Chirstmas holiday guests at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cleo Drake. Mike remain ed for a week's visit with his grandparents and to help out in the service station. Mr. and Mrs. John Jackson were hosts for Christmas dinner for his sister Mrs. Doris Golly horn and their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Koufman of North Bend. Their daughter Charlotte was married in Kinzua on Friday to Larry Larsen. Mr. Larsen has just completed his tour of service in Vietnam. The newlyweds will make their home in North Bend. While in Kinzua they were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Jackson and family. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Sherer visited over the Christmas holi days in Salem at the home of their daughter and family Mr. yaw w Good luck, good cheer, good friends this year. From Seattle Mrs. Harriet Bowman of So attle was visiting with her mother over the Christmas holi days. Mrs. Bowman, Mrs. Heli ker Joined the Donald Helikers at their home on Christmas eve for dinner and exchange of gifts. On Christmas, dinner was held at the home of Mrs. Vida Heliker. Also present for the oc casion were Mrs. Sharon Gor man and son Andy. Andy Gorman was a gue.'t this past week at the home cf l his grandparents Mr. and Mrs, Don Heli ker. Bill Fletchner is spending the holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Fletchner In Portland. Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Crawford and family of La Grande were weekend guests at the home of his parents Mr. and Mrs. Wate Crawford. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Crawford spent Christmas in Yakima at the homo of her daughter and family Mr. and Mrs. Herval Pet tyjohn. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Morgan spent the Christmas holidays in Portland at the home of their daughter and family Mr. and Mrs. Keith Peck. Mrs. Vic Stockard spent Christmas at the home of his daughter and famliy, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph KIncaid. Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Padberg and Mr. Mrs. Marvin Padberg and son Daren spent Chirstmas at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Rea and family of Lex ington. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Morgan, Virgil and Bonnie spent Wed nesday thru Sunday in Portland. They visited with their daugh ters Judy and Geraldine and families. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Halvorsen motored to Salem to attend a wedding on Saturday. Judy Ma son returned home with them for a few days visit at the Lew is Halvorsen home. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Vaughn (the former Eulenna Corley) of Hayfork, Calif., were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Halvorsen on Sun day. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin McCabe and family of Colfax, Wn., vis ited Christmas with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Crabtree. Their grandsons remained for a long er visit. Mrs. Ernest Christopherson is visiting in Donald with relatives tihs week. She also took Arleta and Arlynda with her for a vis it with their grandparents, Mr. Big Gunners . Recently the Beardsleys gave a party at their home in Port land for former Heppnerltes. Steve Peck, home from the Navy for the holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kennetn Peck at Lexington will report back to his ship, the USS Pied mont on Jan. 15. He hopes to be out of the Navy In time to start back to school this fall. Mr. and Mrs. Millard Nolan took Christmas dinner with them to enlov the day with her mother Mrs. Myra Peck and Lydia Wilson at Lexington. Sue Challev is home from NCC at Eugene to spend the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Chally and Laurie. HOSPITAL NEWS From Dec. 26 Admitted to the hospital since Dec. 26 are Charles Nelson, Frank Woody, Robert Spauld Ing, Charles Conlee, all from Fossil. Also admitted to the hos pital Wednesday morning were Careh Adams and Tracy Flynn, both victims of the early morn ing fire at Fossil. Admitted to the hospital from Heppner were Phil Higgins, Annie Healy. Ther esa Naffzlger, Bculah Mankin, Dan Cox, Lynda Dunlap, Nadine O'Brien and Helen Teel. Others admitted were Sue Duncan and Trent Harrison and Vernon Leathers, all of Lexington and Ella Burgoyne of lone. Dismissed were: Phil Higgins, Annie Healy, deceased, Sue Duncan, Trent Harrison, Ther esa Naffzlger, Beulah Mankin and Lynda Dunlap. Mrs. Larry Cook left Wednes- day morning to go by train with her children, Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Adams of Hermiston to visit her children in Baker. They will visit Mr. and Mrs. Marsh all Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Rich ard Van Roekel and Mr. and Mrs. Perry Adams.
