Royal Areli Mnrons. Hubert Wilson, out-going Master, installed his successor, Donald F.- Gilliam, who install ed the remaining officers, with the help of Paul Jones, install ing marshal. New officers are Don Gilliam, Worshipful Mas ter, Robert Abrams, senior war den, George Simonson, junior warden, Howard Bryant, treas urer, and Harold Beeket secre tary all elee'lve officers. Ap pointive officers are Cecil Rill senior deacon, Herman Winter, unior deacon, Claude Graham senior steward, Millard Nolan unlor steward, Clarence Baker, haplain, Paul Jones, marshal! and Hubert Wilson, tiler. The first installation of offl cers of AF & AM took place on Aug. 11, 1877. The charter was granted by the Grand Lodge on June 12 of that year. Charter members were Frank Maddoek J. L. Sperry and O. H. Hallock Officers installed for the re mainder of 1877 included Mad- dock, Sperry, Hallock, Henry Heppner, J. L. Morrow, Julius Keithley, A. S. Wells, and S. C Donaldson. The officers were in stalled by J. H. Kunzie, junior past Grand Master, representing the c.rand Master. After the installation ceremo nles were completed at that first installation, the lodge went on to confer two degrees. Mem bers of those early days travel ed by horse and buggy to at tend lodge, and believed in get ting as much work done as pos sible when they were there. Meetings, were held those days in the upstairs of a build ing on the southwest cor ner of Main and May streets, where the Chevrolet garage is now. OPEN 'TIL 9 P.M. Ledington of Spray, is serving aboard the anti-submar ine carrier USS Yorktown in the Northern Atlantic. Yorktown recently visited the ports Copenhagen, Denmark and Kiel, Germany. In Kiel, York town was host to more than 5,000 visitors during a general open house. Following the stay in Den mark, the 41,000-ton carrier re sumed routine anti-submarine training operations. A First For George Lucionis Mr. and Mrs. George Lucianl of Echo are grandparents for the first time. Their non-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mr Doug Anderson of Beaverton have a daughter, born Dec. She had been named Tiffuiil Sharene, She weighed 8 lb., oz. She is the Andersons first child. Other grandparents are Mr, and Mrs. Nels Anderson of Dal las. Great grandparents are Mr, and Mrs. Henry Haugen of Wa tertown, S. D., and Mrs. John Lu cianl of Echo. Mr. and Mrs. Lucianl were In Portland to attend the State meeting of County Fair boards when the baby arrived. Mrs. Lu ciani spent several days with the Andersons and the new ba by. Mr. Luclani is chairman of the Morrow County Fair Board HOSPITAL NEWS Admitted to Pioneer Memorial Hospital during the week of De cember 10 to 17 and still receiv ing care are Pearl Steers, Hepp ner; John Campbell, Condon; Dorothy Sizemore, Kinzua and Syb Welles, Heppner. Admitted and dismissed after receiving care were Creston Robinson, Heppner and Edith Case, Heppner. Bluebird Buttons had a win ter picnic last Sunday when they went up Shaw Creek to gather Christmas greenery. The girls went to bring Christmas decoration materials for the Mothers Club which sponsors them. Girls making the trip were Joycelyn Thorpe. Julie Grieb, Linda Keithley, Marie Yocom. Their leader is Mrs. El wayne Bergstrom. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Bergstrom and 5-year-old Cindi and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Yocom. Mrs. Ida Farra is pictured on the cover of the October issue of the N. W. Ruralite. She is shown with part of her collec tion of lanterns and the inside feature story is well illustrated snowing ner with her many valuable antiques.
