June 21 Ceremony Unites Osmin-Felt Saturday, June 21. was the date chosen bv Miss Donna Mae Felt for her marriage lo vioen iA-e usmin at the First Christian church In Hermiiiton. The evening ceremony was read by the Itev. Jack Naff be fore an altar decorated with tall altar baskets of pink and white roses wan larce write bows and tapers In candleabra. ' The bride's parents are Mr. and Mrs. A. K. Felt of llermls ton, and the groom Is the son of Alton L. Osmln of Heppner and the late Mrs. Osmln. The bride, given In marriage by her father, chose to wear a floor length satin gown with empire style waistline. The bod ice of the gown featured a lace scalloped neckline and elbow length sleeves. Her elbow length veil was held in place by white satin roses, and she carried a bridal bouquet of pink and white roses with white ribbon stream ers. The bride chose to follow tra dition by wearing something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue. Something old was a heart shap ed agate necklace, an heirloom of her deceased grandmother. Something new was a cross necklace, a gift from the groom. Something borrowed was a silk handkerchief from Japan, which belonged to her mother, and something blue was a garter. A sixpence In her shoe was a 1DG9 penny, given to her by her bro ther. Maid of honor for the cere mony was the bride's cousin, Marlene Moore, from Merrill, Ore. Bridesmaid was her room mate, Judy Taylor of Heppner. and candlellghters were Monica Moore and Vicky Hoskins, both cousins of the bride. Attendants wore floor length pink flowered gowns styled with velvet trim med empire waistlines and el bow length bell sleeves. All wore headpieces of pink flow ers and each carried a nosegay of pink roses and white carna tions. Best man attending the groom was Cliff Green, a former schoolmate, and ushers for the ceremony were Frank Osmin and Art Osmin, brothers of the groom, and Willard Felt, broth er of the bride. ALBERT LEE OSMIN (LYONS PHOTO) Following the ceremony the couple greeted many friends and relatives at a reception in the church social rooms. Serving refreshments from an attractively arranged serving ta tle decorated with pink and white roses and white candles was Mrs. Vivian Hoskins, grand mother of the bride, Mrs. Bessie Nutten, grandmother of the groom, and Mrs. Ruth Nordblom, aunt of the bride. Punch served for the reception featured an ice ring of pink flowers and small pearl hearts. Attending the gift table was Mary Maupin, aunt of the bride, and Mrs. Dale Wonderly, sister of the groom, had charge of the guest book. For her going-away ensemble, the bride chose a pink bell sleeved dress with white acces sories. Following a wedding trip to Oakland, Calif., the couple will reside in Heppner, where the groom is employed with the Soil Conservation Service and the bride works at First Nat ional Bank. i: iVv'v:; L MM.wiiiiiiiiiiiniiiii ' 1 SLa Jtafci- r nr ii I Local Couple Extend Wedding Invitation Mr. and Mrs. Harlan McCurdy, Jr., extend a cordial invitation to friends and relatives in the area to attend the coming mar riage of their daughter, Karen, to Douglas Dubuque, son of Mr. and Mrs. Toussent Dubuqe. The wedding ceremony will be Saturday, July 26, at 2:00 p.m. at Hope Lutheran church in Heppner. A reception will fol low the ceremony in the church basement rooms. MR- AND MRS. WILLIAM REINMILLER (Linda Kay Clark) Linda Clark, William Reinmiller Wed in La Grande Ceremony Marriage vows were exchang ed : between Miss Linda Kay Clark and William Reinmiller at a ceremony Sunday after noon, June 29, at the Seventh day Adventist church in La Grande. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Clark, Sr., of La Grande, and formerly of Heppner. Parents of the bride groom are Mr. and Mrs. Sydney Reinmiller of Atlanta, 111. The Rev. J. Gordon Mildrum officiated at the 2:00 p.m. can dlelight ceremony. Decorating the. altar were standards of gladiolas and daisies, with large yellow daisies markng the guest pews. Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride appeared in a silk empire-styled gown featur ing lace overlay on the bodice, and sheer full-length sleeves fitted at the wrist. The silk ma terial was brought back by her father from service in World War II. Her veil, bordered with lace, extended into a long chap el train. She carried a round topiary bridal bouquet of dais ies with white satin ribbon. Maid of honor was Miss Rose McCornach of Eugene. Brides maids were Mrs. Dean (Mara lee) Trotter of Corvallis, and Miss Marsha Sowell of Heppner. The attendants were attired in lime green floor-length gowns featuring center panels of yel low lace, and carried matching topiary bouquets of pom-pom chrysanthemums. Lighting the tapers and serv ing as ushers were two broth ers of the bride, Don Clark, Jr., of Portland, and Richard Clark of Germany. Serving as best man was Don Sams of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Wedding music was provided by Larry Chitwood of La Grande, who also accompanied Mrs. Rob ert T. Snow. La Grande, when she sang, ''Whither Thou Goest". For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Clark chose to wear a pink coat and dress ensemble, with white accessories. Mrs. Rein miller, mother of the groom, sel Members to Attend National Convention! Mrs. Adolph Majeske, presi dent of the Degree of Honor, in troduced National Treasurer and State Director Clara B. Gertson and Mrs. Ida Farra, state past president, at the meeting July 8. Mrs. Gertson and Mrs. Farra will leave August 8 for the nat ional convention in St. Paul, Minn. Mrs. June Fields was hostess for the meeting, which was held at the Episcopal parish hall. Majeskis Celebrate Silver Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Gene Majeski Lexington, are being honored for their 25th wedding anniver sary. All friends and relatives of the couple are invited to come to an open house reception July 20, from 2-5 p.m. Ginger, Don and Debbie, child ren of the couple will serve refreshments. Rainbow Girls of Ruth Assem bly No. 50 packed Dicnic lunch es and spent Saturday after noon, July 12, at Hat Rock State Park. In spite of windy weather, the girls swam and enjoyed out door games. Occasion for the picnic was the birthday anniversary of the founder of the Order of Rainbow for Girls. William Mark Sexson started the organzation in the 18O0's and wrote the ritual which is used today. To cele brate this, the club wanted to "do something out of the ord inary." Mrs. Justine Weatherford chaperoned the group. The lone Garden Club held Its July meeting at the home of Mrs. June Chrlstopherson Amund Kvam of Norway was guest speaker, snowing colored films and slides of his country. He spoke to the ladies as he showed his films, explaining about nis country and compar Ing the political government of his country and ours. Following a sack lunch, Mr, Kvam held an Informal ques tion and answer period with the ladies gathered. It was a very interesting discussion, and en joyed by all. Mrs. Omar Rietmann and Mrs. Van Hubbard gave reports on the State Garden Club Conven tion recently held in McMinn- ville. Roll call for the meeting cen tered on suggestions for the theme of the Fall Flower Show, which is an annual event spons ored by the local organization. It was announced that the August meeting would be held at the lone Legion Hall on Aug ust 6. at 10:00 a.m. It will be a sack lunch affair with Mrs. Van Hubbard and Mrs. Blaine Chapel as co-hostesses. Mrs. Bill Rawlins will present the A B C's of flower arranging at this meeting. The club ex tends a cordial invitation to the public to attend and requests they bring flowers and contain ers. Invitation Extended To Couple's Reception Mr. and Mrs. Bill Sherman will be honored at a wedding reception at the Heppner Unit ed Methodist church Thursday evening (today), at 8:00 p.m. The couple was married at Park Street church in Boston, Mass., on Sunday, June 29, and are va cationing in Oregon before re turning to the east coast next month.
