Won't be long until definite plans will be made for Sundays. The gals weren't so fortunate on weather last Tuesday, as it was cold and the wind was blowing. The "fairer sex" decid ed to Just call otf play for that day as most are "fair weather golfers." besides who wants to play golf and have cold hands and that cold wind chilling you while you are trying to make a strategic putt? So no news for last Tuesday's Women's Day. All those who have been at the golf course this week have, nr. rlnllht Snon ttlP hfllp fU3 in thp clubhouse, in d rep aration for the porch that is to be built facing the fairways. This is going to De a wonuer- lui aaanion io our wuuhj Clubhouse. Ed Hicmstra drew the plans for this porcn ana has been at the "helm" in get ting it going. This is going to bp a Inrgo porch, connected to the existing one, and will have a nice roof for protection from sun and rain. It will be very conducive for sitting and watch ing the players out on the course, after you have played your game and want to relax in a cool place. If you are a cement pourer, nail pounder, board sawer or Just want to be an observing "porch engineer", please call Ed at 676-9913 and ask him when you can come out and help. Any assistance will be greatly ap preciated, as the more help we get, the sooner we can enjoy our "verenda". This addition to our house has been in the plans for quite some time, and is fi nally coming to be a reality. Our thanks to Ed for taking on this project and getting it go ing. The "Tee Off" markers are in place for the first time this year. Clint McQuarrie took on this job, rubbed them down for rust,' painted them, then put them out to show where you should start on each tee. Hav ing them there makes our golf course more official and effic ient and their bright white adds to the appearance of the links. "Thank you, Clint". Please, please don't forget to post all scores after playing. Re member, vou are just hurting yourself if vou post just the "good" ones. Those "poor" ones can help your handicap, if you just stop and think how this works. Let us all make it a practice to put down that total when we finish playing. Don't forget the Morrow Coun ty Teachers' tournament on Sat urday. May 10, at 10:00 a.m. Might just be fun for non teachers to go, too, and observe. Visitinq with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Rood last week were her son, Emery Gentry of Weston, and also a family friend, Jim Adams of Elgin, who is working in the area temporarily.
