Church Officers Elected; Start Fund For Organ By EVA HAMLETT lONK The annual meeting of the United Church of Christ wan held Sutuluy. January after a H)tlutk dinner, preceded by the morning ervice. Darrel Wilson and I'aul I'etty John, Jr.; deaconess, Margaret Morgan, and Lucille Rietmann; trustees. Uoy W. Lindstrom, Al fred Nelson. Jr., and Bill Riet mann; church school superin tendent, Jean Nelson; board of Christian education. Betty Riet mann; music committee. Allison Luedde, Anna Lee Jamea. Sue Jepsen; auditing committee, Paul Pettyjohn, Sr., Larry Riet mann, council members at large, Suzanne Jepsen, and Scott WiUon. The members voted to start an organ lund, and anyone may rHa this fund. The present organ Is a reed organ, and due to me age nu wem, uni a iLyt iho tart thpre Is no one available to fix this type of organ, members felt this fund necessary for the future in the event a new organ was needed. AX?1 The choir of the United Church of Christ gathered for its annu al party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fredrick Martin following regular rehearsal on Wednesday, January 23. New members hon ored were Mrs. Allison Luedde, Mrs. Katherine Lindstrom and Darrel James, director. Other members present were Mrs. Paul Pettyjohn, Sr., Mrs. Kenneth Smouse, Mrs. Fred Nelson, Mrs. Lindsay Kincaid, Mrs. Norman Nelson, Mrs. Darrel James, Mrs. Mary Holtz, Donald Bristow and Larry Rietmann. Guests of the choir were Mrs. Ella Burgoyne, Roy Lindstrom and Lindsay Kin caid. . Mrs. Harold Beggs returned home Tuesday, January 21, al ter spending several weeks in B iUno Minn with her mother, Mrs. Blanche Zaffke, who has beeen seriously 111 nut is now improving. Mrs. Beggs saw while she was there they had 42 inches of snow and 30-degrees below zero weather. Mr. and Mrs. Earl McCabe spent last week in Portland fur medical attention. Guest at the Louis Carlson home is 2nd Lieut. Kermit Eriek son of the United States Air Force. Lt. Erickson worked for the Carlsons during the summer months for the past few years and is well known to those liv ing in the Gooseberry area and to some in lone. He will visit here for three weeks then will go to Spokane, Wash., for a course in survival training. Mr. and Mrs. Roy A.
