Plans were made for the Christ
mas activities of Holly lodge
and the club. Mrs. Oris Pad
berg won the door prize.

was a recent week-end visitor
at the home of his parents.
Mike Burcham, stationed with
the U. S. Navy aboard the USS
Rogers, is visiting his parents.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Burcham for
the holidays.
Myrtle Marshall Is a patient
in Pioneer Memorial hospital in
Heppner.
Miss Linda VanWinkle, dau
ghter of Mr. and Mrs. William
J. VanWinkle, who is employed
in the teaching system of San
Francisco, Calif., is spending the
holidays with her parents.
Mike Burcham received med
ical attention in Heppner on
Saturday from injuries received
in a car-train accident at the
crossing in Lexington, when the
car he was driving was struck
by the train.
Mrs. John Ledbetter entertain
ed the Lexington Bridge club at
her home one day last week.
Those present were Mrs. Mervin
Leonard, Mrs. Elden Padberg,
Mrs. Bob Davidson, Mrs. Gene
Cutsforth, Mrs. Lester Cox, Mrs.
C. C. Carmichael, Mrs. Dean
Hunt, and the hostess. As this
was the Christmas meeting, the
hostess had her home beauti
fully decorated and served buf
fet type refreshments. Prizes
were won by Mrs. Hunt, high,
and Mrs. Padberg, second high.
Mr. and Mrs. William J. Van
Winkle and family visited over
the week-end in Mt. Vernon
with Mrs. VanWinkle's mother,
Mrs. Lowry, and a brother and
sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bob
Lowry.

ty honoring Mrs. Elden Padberg
on her birthday Saturday. Those

home with illness. They have
been consulting a physician in
