He is a retired planerman, af ter working for the Elk Lumber Co. in Medford for many years. Other recent week-end Ruests at the Rood home included his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Ron CumminRs, who rame from Portland to spend time hunting at the Rood's mountain cabin. Dr. Wallac Wolff and four children traveled to Portland Suturdav, Oct. 19. where they met with Mrs. Wolff and Kathy to attend the Portland Mveologi cat show, held In the OMSI au ditorium and sponsored by the Portland Mvcoloulial Society. The dhow featured over 3tH) var ieties of mushrooms and they saw many exhibits of linens, books, paintings and ceramics relating to the subject of mush rooms. The Portland Society al so publishes a cookbook of manv new and delicious recipes featuring mushrooms. Mr. and Mrs. Evarett Harsh- man spent time in Silver Lake, Ore.. recently, where they went to visit Harshman's bro ther. Buel. who is recovering from a recent heart attack. He is reported to be progressing satisfactorily. Mrs. Harshman also reports that their nephew, Larry Harshman. who was In jured cxtenslvley about two years ago while serving In Vietnam, has recovered from his injuries and Is now working at running a portable sawmill. Laura Ln StotU, 21. daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Stotts, Heppner, Is making sat isfactory gains from surgery performed at St. Anthony hos pltal In Pendleton last Thurs day morning. Her grandmother, Mrs. Walter Gilman, reports that she Is making good recov ery and the family hopes to be able to bring her home within a few days. She Is In room 404 for friends who wish to send curds or messages. Mr. and Mrs. WiUiam Cun ningham became grandparents last month when a son was born to their son-in-law and daugh ter. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Byus ol Seattle, Wash. The mother will be remembered as the former Shirley Kononen. The little boy, named Dean III, weighed 9 lb., 2 oz., and joins two sisters.
