Other callers during the weekend were Mm. Deanna Brandhagen and child ren from l'endleton, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Steagall of Lexington, and Mrs. Lola Breeding. On Sunday the croup father ed at the Breeding home in Lex- Ington lor a family dinner and visit. LEON GEORGE MAGILL (Vickie Robinson) (Lyons Photo) Robinson-Magill Wedding Solemnized In Methodist Church Miss Vickie Eileen Robinson and Leon George Magill ex changed marriage vows at an afternoon candlelight ceremony in the United Methodist church in Heppner on Saturday, Septem ber 28. Officiating at the 2:00 p.m. service was the Rev, Melvin Dixon. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Creston Robinson, Heppner, and parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Stanley L. Magill of Cecil. At the altar were tall white standards holding arrangements of white gladioli and pink pom pom chrysanth e m u m s, with matching flowers in altar vases, and flanked by white tapers in candleabra. Yellow and white satin bows marked the bridal aisle. Given In marriage by her father, the bride was attired in a self-fashioned floor length A line gown of white chantilly lace over peau de soie, featuring short bell sleeves- Her shoulder length illusion veil fell from a large single rose. She carried a bouquet of pink roses and white carnations, accented with sprays of lily-of-the-valley with tiny pink rosebuds caught in the long white streamers. Maid of honor was Miss Ra mona Wright, cousin of the bride, of Wallowa. Bridesmaids were Miss Kathy Matthews and Miss Nancy Do herty, classmates of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Miss Marlene Magill, sister of the groom. The maid of honor and junior bridesmaid wore matching floor length gowns of yellow lace fashioned in cage style, over fitted satin. The bridesmaids were in contrasting pink lace over satin gowns, in matching styles. Attendants carried bou quets of roses and spider chrys anthemums in shades of pink and yellow. Kelly Dee McGirr, cousin of the bride, Long Creek, served as flower girl and Brian Hevener, also cousin or the bride, Mc Minnville, attended as nng bearer. Lighting the candles before the ceremony were Patti Kay Sahng, cousin of the bride, and Dee Ann Hedman, both of Hepp ner, wearing short pink dresses of lace over satin. Mrs. Robinson, mother of the bride, attended in a muted pink wool suit dress with cranberry accessories, and the groom's mother, Mrs. Magill, was attired in a blue crepe and lace dress with blue accessories. The newlyweds greeted their guests at a reception in the church social rooms. Single pink tapers encircled with pink and white pom-pom chrys a n t n e mums, were at each side of the tiered wedding cake. Serving the guests were Mrs. Mike bal ing, Mrs. Leonard Caverhill, Mrs. Donald Robinson. Mrs. Robert Kelly, all aunts of the bride, and Mrs. John Magill, cousin of the groom. Special guests were the bride's grandparents, Mrs. Lena H. Kelly, Heppner, and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Robinson, Mt. Vernon, also the groom's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Luther Perkins, Nampa, Idaho; and Mrs. Harold K. Pfell, Salem, a great-aunt of the bride. - - - For their weddine trln the new Mrs. Magill changed to a brick red wool snaaow piaia dress with matching red wool coat, and black accessories. They are now making their home in Pendleton, where the bride is enrolled in Blue Moun tain Community College. She was a 1968 graduate of Heppner High school. The groom, a grad uate of lone High school in 1967, is expected to leave soon for National Guard basic training at Fort Knox, Ky. New Bride Honored At Wedding Shower A miscellaneous bridal shower honoring a recent bride, Mrs. Robert lrby of Hermiston, was held last Sunday afternoon at St. Patrick's Catholic Parish hall. Following the opening of many lovely gilts by the honoree, hos tesses s rved refreshments of an gel food cake, punch and coffee from a serving table attractively decorated in shades of blue and white, the color scheme used by the bride for her wedding, cen tered on the table was an at tractive floral cenerplece with blue candles. Hostesses for the event were Mrs. Wilbur Van Blokland, Mrs. Snoda Blake, Mrs. L. D. Tibbies and Mrs. Grace Buschke. Names Omitted Omitted from a story used in last week's paper were names of two guests who were Introduced at the association meeting oi Rebekah Lodges of District 20 held in lone September 19, at Willows Grange hall." A good granger dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m., with those attending asked to bring a salad or dessert. The special Booster Night program will follow the dinner, with an evening of fun planned for everyone. Visitors are welcome to attend. U. N. Youth Project Gets Lodge Support Attendance at the October 4 meeting of Sana Soucl Rebckuh Lodge No. 33 was small, as must of the officers had evidentally Joined the hunting trek to the hills. Mrs. Jo Huston, noble grand, welcomed Mrs. Delia Murray, post noble grand of Mt. Gem Lodge No. 57 of Union, who is now making her home In Heppner. Members who were IU were re ported, and cards signed to send to them. Sans Soucl Lodge approved sending their contribution to the liHiii United Nations Pilgrimage for Youth, a project which the local lodge has supported since its inception In 1951. Interest in this contest will be urged In Heppner High school, with the hope that a junior or sophomore student will compete In the final speak-off, since the school was not represented last year. Mrs. Huston was hostess for the social hour which followed the adjournment- Nichols Announce Daughter's Marriage Mr. and Mrs. Bill Nichols, lone, announce the recent mar- iage of their daughter, Mary, to Thomas V. Wilson of Gulesburg, III., on Saturday, September 14, at the First Christian church In Galesburg. The bride Is a graduate of lone High school with the class of 1967. Immediately following her graduation she entered serv ice with the Women's Marine Corp, where she was stationed at Quantico, Va., for one year.
