House guest this past week of Mr. and Mrs. Mat Boring was their niece, Miss Cynthia Riley, ol Klamath tails, bne was doing some practice teaching and observing in the. fourth grade at Fossil Grade school as part of her work In education at the University of Oregon from where she will graduate next spring. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Held became the parents of identical twin daughters Friday, beptenr ber 6, at The Dalles General hospital. The babies weighed 6 lb., 5ya oz., and 5 lb., 10V oz. and have been named Dana Kaye and Lana Renee. They join a sister, D Rina Lei. Grandpar ents are Mr. and Mrs. Dale Sin clair of Spray, Mrs. Frank Hun- sucker of Kamiah, Idaho, and Robert Reid of Hermiston. Great grandparents are Mrs. Venie Anderson of Spray, Mrs. C. E. Hastings of Kinzua, and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Reid of Hermiston. Miss Sally Schroeder, bride- elect of Michael Wright, was the honored guest last Wednes day evening at a bridal shower given at the Kinzua Grade school. Guy Van Arsdale was in Pen dleton Friday where he had medical care. The regular meeting of the Camp 5 Womens Club was held Wednesday evening at the Camp 5 Community Hall with Marie Hulctt as hostess for the evening. The meeting was con ducted by President Barbara Mortlmore with nine members and two guests present. The guests, Rose Hard wick and Sue Upton, both became members. Frances White was elected Ser geant of Arms to replace Dol oies Wlmer who had advanced to vice-president. It was decid ed to have a hunters card party on September 2s with Betty M unlock and Frances White as hostesses. The door prize was won by Terry Todd and pinoch le prizes went to Barbara Mor- timore and Pat Van Arsdale for high and to Carol Norris and Betty Murdock for low. Mrs. Don Hardwick and dau ghter Genine went to John Day Friday on business and where Genine remained to attend school. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph James were in Heppner Saturday where Mr. mes had medical care. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Aue and son Richard moved back to Port land Saturday from Camp 5. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Norris were In Bend Sunday on business and stopped in Prlnevlllo to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Norris and with Mr. and Mrs. Frank FerreL Mr. and Mrs. Bob Reavls mov ed this past week-end to Fossil where they will occupy the llersehel Murdock property. Mr. Reavls will go Into business for himself In electrical worK anu appliance repair. Pvt. Mike Pierce Completes Training Armv Private Michael G. Pierce, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Pierce of Heppner, completed eight weeks of advanced infan try training August 23 at Ft Lewis, Wash. He received specialized in struction in small unit tactics and in firing such weapons as the M-16 rifle, the M-ti0 ma chine gun and the 3.5-inch rocket launcher. His wife, Shirley, lives at 804 Fourth, La Grande. Duplicate Licenses Policy is Changed Department of Motor Vehicles of the State of Oregon no long er requires individuals seeking duplicate driver licenses to ap ply for them In person, Mrs. El vira Irbv, deputy in the office of Sheriff C. J. D. Bauman, states. Individuals no longer are re quired to submit Identification to process applications for du plicates. This will permit the department to accept mailed ap Dlicate licenses, and it is ex pelled that it will encourage more persons to apply for a du plicate when the original li cense is lost or mislaid. The former policy was a con siderable inconvenience to the driver, requiring considerable time and travel since the appli cation in person could not be done locally. Visiting one dory last week ot the home of Mr. and Mrs. Stan ley Cox were their niece and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Boger of Dayton, Wn.
