Float depicted four types o'f mu sic in keeping with parade theme. ""Medley of Songs." At top right Princess Marcia Jones presents rodeo awards to Ron Currin, Morrow county all around cowboy winner and bull dogging champion. Tad Miller, chairman of the rodeo (right), looks on. Miller will retire from the rodeo committee this year after six years' service, doing a fine Job as chairman for sev eral years. Currin won Cuts tforth all-around trophy and silver buckle from Cornett Green far bulldogging. Queen Berniece and Court congratulate Larry Smith of Whiskey HilL Oregon (near Canby), as chainpion all-around cowboy at the rodeo. (Second from top. left) Princesses from left are Sheila Luciani. Kathy Hinton, Sue Ellen Greenup and Marcia Jones. Smith topped all cowboys in the rodeo on accum ulated points to win the custom made saddle given by Morrow County Grain Growers and Pad berg Machinery, Inc. Grand Champion booth at the Morrow county fair was the one of the Heppner Elementary PTA (third 4rom top. left). It showed the need for parents, teachers and students to coop erate in combatting problems c-1 the modern day. v. Even Tom Martin's horse is happy as the Morrow county cowboy grins upon receiving the custom made saddle from Kin zua Corporation as champion Morrow Ccunty Amateur calf ro per (second from top, right). Queen Berniece Matthews makes the presentation. At bottom left ia the excel lent booth of the Assembly of God at the county Hair. This was second place winner among church groups. Several churches entered fine booths at the fair. Smokey the Bear is featured on the float of the Cub Scouts of Hermiston. bottom right The Cub Scout pack is sponsored by the Eagles lodge. It won sec end for out of county entries in the rodeo parade. As in former years, neighboring towns had many fine entries in the parade to contribute to its success.
