Penhollow of ficiated at the 2:00 p.m. double ring candlelight ceremony, as sisted by the Rev. James K. Eg l.v. The bride Is the niece of Mr. and Mrs. Vern Hassler of Red mond. Parents of the bride groom are Mr. and Mrs. Arnold (Bud) Springer of Heppner. Marking the bridal aisle were soft yellow pew bows, matcn- lng those which accented the two tall altar standards which held spires of white and yellow gladioli and fern. Candleabra holding tall white tapers, add ed to the summer setting. Escorted to the altar by her uncle. Vern Hassler, the bride was attired in a self-styled white brocade eown with chapel train. The fitted bodice was styled with long tapered sleeves aC' cented with pearl buttons, and scooped neckline. Her bouffant veil of illusion net was attach ed to a headpiece of white silk roses. She carried a bridal bou quet of white carnations and cascading; stephanotis with sat in streamers. For something old" the bride wore a single strand of pearls given to her by her grandmother, Mrs. Blanche McFadden. "Something borrow ed" was a lace trimmed hand kerchief from a family friend, Mrs. Rupert Park; "something new" was a dime put In her shoe by her uncle, and "something blue" was a garter made by the bride. Miss Chris Hassler, cousin of the bride, Redmond, attended as maid of honor. Her mint green sleeveless street-length dress was fashioned with a full pleat in the back which extended from the deep V-cut neckline. She. wore matching shoes, and a green net veil headpiece was held with a crown of yellow daisies. She carried a nosegay bouquet of yellow daisies. Bridesmaid attendants were Miss Janet Downs, cousin of the bride; Mrs. George Copeland, Mrs. Raymond Lyons and Mrs Christopher Grady. Their gowns of mint green were identically styled with that of the maid of honor, with matching accessor ies. Thev carried nosegays of white and yellow daisies. Little Vicki Hassler, cousin of the bride, preceded the bride as fJower girl, wearing a matching green dress and carrying a smalJ basket of white daisies. Jerry Hassler, cousin of the bride, served as ring bearer. Shan Applegate of tugene. and formerly of Heppner, attend ed as best man. Ushering, and lighting the ta pers before the ceremony, were Doug Dubuque, Heppner, and Greg McFadden, Kedmond, bro ther of the bride. Other ushers were Butch Heath and Dale Holland, both of Heppner, and Harold Weath ers of Bend. Wedding selections were play ed by Mrs. Donald Rich, organ ist, who also accompanied Rob ert Kircher when he sang "Be cause" and "The Wedding Pray- For her niece's wedding, Mrs. Hassler chose to wear a water melon colored pink lace and satin dress with bone accessor ies and a white carnation cor sage. Mrs. Springer, mother of the groom, attended in a powder blue lace sheath and jacket. with powder blue and white ac cessories, and a pink carnation corsage. A reception followed in West minister Hall. The five-tiered white wedding cake was decor ated with pale yellow and green rosting flowers and topped with white wedding bells and pale yellow ribbon. Mrs. Oscar Osmundson, Bend, aunt of the bride, and Mrs. Harry Fagan, Eugene, cousin of the bride, cut and served the ke. Pouring punch were Mrs. Leonard Rouse, Richland, Wn., and Mrs. Leonard Downs, both aunts of the bride, and coffee was served by Mrs. Jerry Hodge, Portland, Mrs. Meda Butler and Nan Hodge. Miss Ginger Springer, Hepp ner, sister of the groom, pre sided at the guest book. Miss Kathy Bertman, Portland, and Mrs. Jay McDowell. Eugene, wrr In charge of trie jsiit U ble. She was graduated from Red mond High school in l'M4 and from Oregon College of Educa tion in 1968. After graduating from Hepp ner High school in 19G3, the groom attended OCE for two years, then served in the U. S. Army for two years. Special guests during the af ternoon were Mrs. Nels Ander son, mother of the prospective groom, and Mrs. David Ander son, Albany. will meet at the Episcopal par ish hall at 7:00 p.m. for a pot- luck dinner, and a variety of entertainment will follow.
