BEN JAT ALTMAN (Sandra Aloan Bryson) Sandra Bryson Weds Ben Altman July 12 In Portland Ceremony Oaks Pioneer Church In Port land was the setting (or the marriage on Friday evening, July 12, of Miss Sandra Alean Bryson and Ben Jay Altman. Formerly the St. Johns Episcopal church, the pioneer church is the oldest church In Oregon that has been in continuous use over one hundred years, and now also in cludes a museum. The Rev. Steven Beadle offic iated at the 9:00 p.m. double ring candlelight ceremony. Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. O. H. Bryson of lone, and the groom is the son of Mrs Lucille Pulliam of Milwaukie. Escorted to the altar by her lather, the bride wore a gown of while velvet, featuring aft empire waistline and flowing chapel train. She carried a bri dal bouquet of white carnations and roses with pink satin streamers. Her elbow-length veil was held by a I lor a 1 head piece edged with seed pearls. Maid of honor was Miss Mary Altman, sister of the groom. She attended in a floor length gown of deep pink velvet, with match ing bow headpiece, and carried contrasting white carnations and roses with pink streamers. Attending as best man was Frank Oliver, with John Sulli van serving as usher and honor attendant. Wedding reception for the couple was held at the home of the bride's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Steirly, in Vancouver, Wash. Mrs. Doris Hasson of Everett, Wash., another sister of the bride, as sisted with the arrangements. After a short honeymoon to Long Beach, Wash., the couple will be at home at 5872 S. E. Harney Drive, Portland. The bride was graduated from Heppner High school with the class of 1967. Altman was a grad uate of Milwaukie High school in 1965, and attended Multno mah College In Portland. A delightful 3' hours was rn toyed with the guests, from 4:(M) to 7:30 P.m.. before they returned to meet a sched uled midnight litem irom Portland. Accompanying the Severin sens from Portia na were ner mother, Mrs. Ora Evans, and his step brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ted sweeten, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Sev erinsen, Sr., came from Arling ton, and Joining the group from Heppner were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Spaulding and daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Krebs were also present to greet the unexpected visitors. Much reminiscing was enioy cd durlna their brief visit about school days of tneir former years in Arlington and Heppner, they expressed wishes to be remem bered to their many friends in the area, and of their desire to return for a vacation" at some future time. Raymond Beard offic iated at the 7:00 p.m. double ring ceremony. Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Snyder, and the groom is the nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Harry O'Donnell, all of Heppner. Altar arrangements of yellow and white gladioli carried out the bride's chosen wedding col ors. Given in marriage by htr father, the bride appeared in a floor length gown of white crepe and lace, fashioned in straight lines, oval neckline and long tapered sleeves. Her shoul der length illusion veil was held by a floral headpiece. Yellow roses centered her bridal bou- I quet, surrounded by daisies and gladioli blossoms. Maid of honor was Miss Betty Angell, Portland, and formerly of Heppner. She wore a yellow eyelet street length dress, fash ioned In A line style, and car ried an arm bouquet of yellow daisies. Musical selections were play ed by Miss Marguerite Glavey, organist, who also accompanied Bill Kenny, soloist. Serving as altar boys and lighting the tapers before the ceremony were Kon wara ana C. J. Balfe. Jon O'Donnell, brother of the groom, attended as best man Ushering the guests were Roger Leonnig and Rick John ston. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Snyder wore an ensemble nf naw blue, witn wnite acces sories. Mrs. O'Donnell selected an ensemble of white, with or anpe accessories. Keeping the guest book was Mrs. riaudean Snvder. sister-in law of the bride, and attending the gift table was Miss Erin Dick. The couple greeted their many out-of-town relatives and friends at an miormai garner ing at the home of the bride's Darents. The newlyweds have made their home in Heppner during the summer and will reside in Ontario after September, where the groom will enroll for his second year at Treasure Valley Community college, majoring in police science. Mrs. ODonnell completed a one-year course in stenography at Blue Mountain Community college in June. Both young people are gradu ates of Heppner High school with the class of 1967. Among honor guests at the wedding were the bride's grand Darents. Mr. and Mrs. George Clark of La Grande and Mrs. Mable Snyder of Pendleton. Mont., on a few day's vacation from Colum bia Basin Electric Cooperative where he is office manager. He will join his wife and family there since they preceded him on the trip, going to visit Mrs. Follensbee s mother, Mrs. K. t. Holder. They plan to return to Heppner by Monday.
