After the first five years, at the option of the City, any bond or bonds may be called for payment on any interest due date, without pen alty. Said bonds will be Issued pur suant to the provisions of the City of Irrigon Charter, and will constitute a first pledge upon the aforesaid revenues derived from , the operation of the wa ter svstem. and will be pay able, as to both principal and interest, at the principal office of the City. Bids will be submitted only on the basis of the face amount of the bonds, without discount or premium. Each bid must specify an interest rate of 4.50 or less because the U. S. Gov ernment through the Farmers Home Administration has agreed to take them at that rate. The further terms and provis ions of the bonds, Including all covenants relative thereto and provision for their security, are set forth in the Bond Ordinance adopted by the City Council. Copies of the Ordinance may be obtained from the City Re corder, City Hall, Irrigon, Ore gon. Bids must be submitted In a sealed envelope addressed to the City Recorder, City Hall, and marked "Bids for Water Reve nue Bonds". Each bid must be accompanied by a cashier's or certified check payable to City of Irrigon in the sum of $1,800.00. The check will secure payment for said bonds within a reasonable time and will be forfeited as liquidated damages in event of default on the part of the successful bidder. Checks from unsuccessful bidders will be returned promptly after de termination of the successful bidder. Bids will be opened and tab ulated promptly after the above stated closing time. July 4. 1968 3-Year Sentence Given Defendant Dustin Shirley, who had plead ed guilty to a charge of burg lary not In a dwelling, was sen tenced to three years in the Ore. gon State Correctional Institute at Salem In Morrow county cir cuit court here Tuesday by judge William wens. Shirley had entered the guilty plea to the charge on March 7 in circuit court. He allegedly took a sum of cash and some credit cards from the Van Winkle Motel here at an earlier date. After entering plea, he was free after posting bail. However, the man laces an other sentence in Umatilla coun ty on a separate charge, and was to appear In circuit court there Tuesday afternoon.
