HEPPNER GAZETTE-TIMES. Thursday. June 13. 19C8 Reception Planned For RAM Officers On Anniversary Year Celebration of the 75th annl versary of Heppner Chapter No. 2n. Hoy a l Aren Masons, win ai so be tho occasion (or a public reception which will honor two members of the local lodge who hold positions of honor in the order. The reception on Saturday, June 15, will honor Paul Jones, grand king of the order, and Harold Becket, district deputy grand high priest. Tho evening program will be gin with a no-host dinner served In the fellowship rooms of the First Christian church at 6:30 p.m. This will be followed by a special program in the Ma sonic Hall at 8:00 p.m., with many grand Masonic dignitaries expected to be present, Includ ing Grand High Priest Charles Goold of Medford. It Is expec ted that a gathering of 80 or more representatives will attend from out of town. Guest speaker for the evening will be Vilas J. Brown of Port land, past grand high priest. Companion Brown, widely known throughout the northwest as a most capable speaker, will ad dress the gathering on the theme, "burled Treasures." There will be enlertalnmenr to commemorate the 75th anni versary and a special History of the Heppncr Chapter has been published through the efforts of Larry Cook, historian, and will be distributed at the meeting. The celebration and reception will replace the outdoor moun tain degree meeting which has become a tradition with tne lo cal chapter at this time of the year. The public Is cordially invited to attend the program and ex tend greetings to the honored of ficers, and to members who have had historical influence In work of the chapter. "Ed" DICK 676-9633 Standard Oil Company of California Engaged Couple Plans Marriage in Athens The engagement and forth coming marriage of Miss Bar bara Gribble, Heppner, to Air man First Class Larry Michael Derrick, now stationed in Ath ens, Greece, is announced by Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Gribble, parents of the bride-elect. Air man Derrick is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Derrick of Ba ker. Miss Gribble plans to leave by let plane for Athens, Greece, on July 15. The couple will ex change their marriage vows in the Air Force Base Chapel the following day, Tuesday, July 16, at an 8:00 p.m. ceremony. They expect to live in Greece for the next two years while Larry is completing - his assignment there, where he is attached to the Security Police of the U. S. Air Force. Airman Derrick attended the University of Oregon prior to en tering service. He spent two years with the U. S. Air Force in Korea before his assignment in Greece. Miss Gribble has .lust completed her sophomore year at Eastern Oregon College, La Grande. She was a graduate of Heppner High school with the class of 1966. Hostesses for the shower were Mrs. Anita Stockard, Mrs. Paul Arbogast and Mrs. George Grif fith of lone. Guests came in couples and an evening of games and prizes was enjoyed. A beautifully decorated cake in the shape of two wedding bells with miniature bride ana groom on the top was served with punch and coffee by the hostesses. The cake was baked and decorated by Mrs. Arbogast. Colors of the decorations and refreshments carried out the blue and white color scheme, which Miss Green has chosen for their wedding on Saturday, June 15. Invitation to the ceremony is printed separately in this week's paper.
