When they return ed to Portland they took Mrs. Pt'terson's daughter Cheryl home with them. Mrs. Ed Wham and Mrs. Er nie Wall were business visitors to The Dalles Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Woods and son Max spent Sunday near Hood River visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Horace Smiley. The Smil ey's are former residents of Kin zua. Mr. and Mrs. Grover Norris and grandson, Michael Null of The Dalles, were Friday over night guests of Mrs. Lillian Searcy. Mrs. Norris and Mrs. Searcy are sisters. Mrs. David Dahill and Mrs. Dan Bell were business visitors to Portland Friday. Mrs. Don McConnell and Mrs. Bert Hoover went to The Dalles Thursday evening to visit with Mrs. Jack Sitton who is recup erating from recent surgery. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Eversole and family spent Sunday visit ing with friends In Hood River. Mrs. Tom Jordan and children went to Portland Saturday to get Mr. Jordan who had been re leased from the Veterans Hospi tal following surgery the pre vious Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Reece of Joseph visited over the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Guy Van Arsdale and Rick Reece. Mrs. Richard Mortimore and sons Roger and Earl were In Heppner Saturday for dental work. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Shaw and daughter Janice of Hermlston were Saturday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jiggs Bowman. The Shaw's returned home Saturday evening and Janice remained for the Junior Senior Prom. She returned to her home Sunday where Mr. and Mrs. Bowman and family took their son Pvt. Victor Bowman to Pendleton from where he flew to Oakland, Calif., and expect ed to leave for Vietnam Mon-1 day night. Vic had been home on a 19 day leave. Mr. and Mrs. C. V. C Carmichael, Mrs. Bob Jepsen, Mrs. Gene Cutsforth, Mrs. John Ledbetter. the honor ee. Mrs. Leonard, and hostess. Mrs. Hunt Prizes were won by Mrs. Jepsen, high: Mrs. Leonard, second high, and Mrs. Carmich ael, low. Lovely birthday re freshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Smith of Hood River are parents of a ba by daughter, Andrea Jeanine, born Thursday, April 18. The baby is the great granddaugh ter of Mrs. Lola Breeding, who is now visiting the family.
