Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Drake and family of Fairfield, Calif., are here visiting at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cleo Drake. Drake Is enjoying the vacation this week from his teaching duties in Armijo High school. Topic Club will meet this Fri- day at 2:15 at the home of Mrs. Margaret Troedson. The Masons have been doing a considerable amount of re modeling to their hall. During this week, work lias been done on the restroomsV and in other areas. Enjoying an outing at their mountain property on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Omar Riet- mann, their son Larry, ana grandson Chris. Miss Nancy Stringer, wno teaches in Northern California, stopped here for a visit with her sister. Mrs. Bob Mather. Miss Stringer is enroute to Nyssa to visit her parents. Mrs. Gene Rietmann recently entertained two tables of bridge in her home with proceeds oi the donations going to the Eas ter Seal drive. This party and many other functions are being planned oy memDers oi Beta Omega Sorority which Is again this vear sDonsoring the area campaign to raise money for crippled children. Winning pnz es were Mrs. Ray Boyce, high: Mrs. Bill Rietmann, second high, and Mrs. Pete Cannon, lack high. Other guests were Mrs. Bob Rietmann. Mrs. Bob Jepsen, Mrs. Gene Hall and Mrs. Dick Krebs. A workshoD which Is open to the public is being planned by members of Willows Hbjj tor 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 9, There will be demonstrations and instructions on making pa per roses, ribbon corsages, and resin work. Those interested in making paper roses are asked to bring pencil, scissors and ru ler. There will also be a small charge for other materials used. A potuck lunch is panned at noon with the hostesses furnish ing the main dish. Guests are asked to bring salads or des erts. Posters Educational The anti-litter posters, prepar ed by lone grade school students in grades four to six, have been on display in local business es tablishments for the past five weeks. Some were originals, some are copies, but all have been very interesting, inis is one of the lone Garden club's campaign projects to remove unsightly debris. There will be a family breakfast begin ning at 8:30, the morning wor ship service has been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. with baby sitting for pre-schoolers furnished. Mrs. Pete Cannon, chairman for the church clothing drive, asks that anyone having clothes to donate please leave them in the church basement. Some of the clothing will be distributed to our county welfare families and to the State Hospital. lone PTA will meet on Thurs day. April 11, at 8:00 in the school cafetorium. Calvin Fouts from the Pendleton office of the State Dept. of Labor will speak on child labor laws. Everyone is invited to attend. SCHOOL NEWS The high school baseball team will play at Riverside on April 12 at 2:30 and again on April 15 here in a game with Smnfield at 2:30 p.m. The lone High school music students will participate in the Band Contest to be held In Pen dleton on Saturday, April 13. The lone track team will trav el to Pilot Rock on Saturday for a field meet.
