The research, which Involves nn analysts of 10 selected Ore gon ski areas, Is supported bv a $2.0(10 grant from the Pacific Northwest Ski Areas Association and funds from the OSU Grad uate Research Council. As part of the project, ASU student In terviewers visit the areas on spe cific week-ends to have ques tionnaires completed by a sam ple of 2500 patrons. The ski areas In the study Include Mt. Hood's Timberline, Ski Bowl, Multorpor, and Sum mit: Mt. Hood Meadows, south of Hood River; Bachelor Butte, west of Bend; Hoodo Bowl, at Santiam Pass; Willamette Pass, southeast of Eugene; and North western Oregon's Spout Springs, north of La Grande, and Antho ny Lake, between Baker and La Grande.
