County Horses Among Winners At Hermiston Results of the second annual Columbia Basin Quarter Horse Fall show have been released, and among the winners are sev eral from Morrow county. The show was held Saturday, Octo ber 7, at the Umatilla county fairgrounds in Hermiston, and had a total of 230 entries. Among the area winners were Marcla Jones, Heppner, second in the stake race, with Ruby Fulleton taking fourth place, and her sister, Becky, coming in sixth. . , , Among the barrel racing w n ners were Marianne Pettyjohn of lone, second, and Marcla Jones, Heppner, fifth. In Class No. 10, for colts of 1967. First place was won by un named, out of Syke's Miss Dee by Plaudit Poco, owned by George Miller, lone. In Class No. 14, competition for aged stallions, third place was won by Teddy Salute, out of Gill Co. Mare by Diamond Salute, owned by Virgil Chap man, Boardman. Texas Sue, out of Woodle Mare by Cuter 11, owned by Harry Noble of Boardman, took fourth in Class No. 17 for sen ior cutting competition, with Mr. Bar Barred, owned by Floyd Jones, coming in sixth. Oregon 34-37c Man Sentenced On Kenneth Maynard of Heppner was sentenced to 90 days in jail by Justice of the Peace Lowell Grlbble Monday after the de fendant pleaded guilty to a charge of assault and battery while unarmed. Mrs. Marjorie Doherty filed a complaint alleging that May nard had beaten her on Friday, October 13. Maynard was arrested by Dep uty Sheriff Dean Ci'man.
