Incoming grsin at Portland and Astoria inspected ' by the department totaled 350,239 tons in August. The previous month there were 241,833 tons. At Pendleton the department inspectors made inspections on 59,067 tons of grain for diver sion and at Merrill on 13,061 tons of grain.
