Mrs. Mur doek had been In Bralnerd, Minn., where she was called by the serious Illness of her fath er, Fred Casey, Sr. Mr. Casey Is out of danger now. En route home Mrs. Murdoek visited In Yakima with Mr. and Mrs. Herb Phillips. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Lorengel and family returned home Sun day from a week's vacation spent at various parts of the Oregon coast. Charles Allen and Butch Car ey are both home on leave af ter having completed their boot camp training with trie v. b. Navy. Mrs. Wavland Hyatt and children Theresa and Travis went to Portland Sunday to spend several days visiting with relatives. Mrs. Tom Jordan was hostess last Tuesday evening for a sur prise birthday party for her hus band. Thursday, August 24, 1967 Swiss Wrestler Attends Matches Br MARY LEE MARLOW BOARDMAN Mr. and Mrs Walter Wyss went to Portland last Saturday to attend the 50th anniversary of the Swiss Wrest ling Club, and to see tne wrest ling matches. Wyss was one of (he original club members. club. Members doing the wrestling now are the third generation of the original club membres. The Home Economics Club of Greenfield Grange met last week at the home of Mrs. Leon ard Bedord, with Mrs. Chub Warren co-hostess. Luncheon was served at 12:30. An invitation was read from the Columbia Grange at Hermlston for members of Greenfield Grange to attend their picnic to be held In Herm Iston August 20. The dinner Is to be served at the public auction which is scheduled for September 23 was discussed, and decision was made to have a smorgasbord The next meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Glen Carpen ter September 13. Paul formerly lived with the Gantenbelns some 20 years ago when he was attending high school and college. Mrs. Bob Dyer returned home a week ago from Ketchikan, Alaska, where she had spent six weeks visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Muzzy and family at Thome Bay. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Schell were here Saturday to move their household goods from the house they had lived in. The Schells expect to settle In the Troutdale area near Portland Mr. and Mrs. Arden Tripp and Billy went to Stanfield Friday evening to bring Tom home. On Sunday they went to Hood River with Mr. and Mrs. Quincy Tripp on business. She suffered a stroke July 28. A former resident here, she Is the sister-in-law of Mrs. Zearl Gillespie and Mrs. Roy Ball, Sr. Mr. and Mrs. Kit Georg and Cam are In lleppner for a month from Fort Collins, Colo., where Kit nttends Colorado State Uni versity. They are visiting at the homes of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack VanWinkle, and Mrs. Elaine S. George. Kit is also on duty at the Ditch Creek Guard Station tor the untied states Forest Service while they are here. They served as dean of men and dean of women, respective ly, for Junior high youth the week of August 7-12, nnd for senior high youth the week of August 1419. Rev. McCarty re turned to Heppner each week end to hold services at the lo cal church. Accompanying them for the first week of Junior high camp was Doug Beggs, and attending the second week for senior high camp were Joy Beggs and Mon te Crum, all of lone. Rev. and Mrs. McCarty and family will move the end of the month to Othello, Wn., where he will be pastor of the church there, holding his first service there September 3.
