Susan Lindstrom spent a mid
term break at her parental
heme this week-end from her
summer school work at Oregon

and four grandsons were recent
guests of his brother, Mr. and
Mrs. Wallace Matthews and
family. They were enroute home
to P.oseburg from a trip to Yel
lowstone National Park.
Attend Legion Convention
Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Tucker
have returned from a week's
vacation trip. They were dele
gates to the American Legion
and Legion Auxiliary Conven
tions in Eugene from July 13 to
15. While in Eugene, they were
the guests of Mrs. Tucker's sis
ter, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Turner
and family. The Turner's son,
Monte recently broke both bones
in his leg in a swimming acci
dent. The Tuckers also took
their daughter, Tanya, to Camp
Adams near Mollala, for a week
at Junior High church camp,
and visited at Salem and Can
by before returning home.

of the death of Harold VanHorn
in Hermiston last week. Mr. and

ington residents where they

L. A. Palmer on the Creek ranch.
Mrs. Edna Munkers and Mrs.
Cleo VanWinkle spent the week
end at the Munkers trailer in
the mountains.

in Seattle, spent the week end

Mrs. Floyd (Irene) Graham,

nia where her son will start a

Marine Cpl. Frank Robinson is
spending three weeks at the
nome of his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Frank Robinson, before re
porting to Whidbey Island
where he will be stationed. Cpl.
Robinson has just returned from
duty with the US forces in Viet
nam. Leora VanWinkle, who is sta
tioned in Central Valley, Calif.,
with the VISTA program, writes
that she is tutoring on Head
Start VISTA work in the valley.
The girls are working with the
low income families and are af
filiated with the California Wel
fare Department. She finds this
work most interesting, but quite
different than the work she was
in in Alaska.

dleton visited last Thursday in
Lexington and lone.
Mr. and Mrs. Gene Longgood
of Yakima, Wn., spent the week
end at the home of her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Al Fetsch. They
recently attended the Calgary
Stampede where Longgood plac
ed third in the first go-around
in calf roping.
Mrs. Natalie Rauch returned
home last Tuesday from Toledo.
She was brought home by Mrs.
John Hartman, with whom she
had been visiting.
