Mrs. Jessie Scott took Mr. and Mrs. Krnle Johnson to Pendle ton where she took the train buck to Michigan City, Ind., for a new school bus. Bud Johnson's boy was taken to John Day hospital recently where he was treuted for what at first appeared to be blood poisoning. Christian Church Elects Officers The Heppner Christian Church recently held Its annual bunl ness meeting at which time a new constitution and by laws were passed. New officers were also elected for the new fiscal year. They are: Chairman of the board, Bob Bcrgstrom; vice chairman of board, Jim Wlshart; secretary, Virginia Kelthley; treasurer, Bill Hust; organist, Vrglnla Turner; assistant organist, Kathryn Ilosklns; choir director, Kathryn Ilosklns; assistant choir director, Deanna Boschee; unity council, Jim Wlshart, Marcel Jones and Anita Stock ard; Junior department superin tendent. Lawrence, 23, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nathen Lawrence of Monument, was assigned to the 'Jlh Infantry Division in Viet nam, June 16. Pvt. Lawrence Is a member of Company E, 2nd Battalion, of the division's With Infantry. He entered the Army In July llMiG, and was last stationed at Ft. Carson. Colo. The private graduated In 190-1 from Camp Verde (Ariz.) High school.
