The Boardman Garden Club
met Monday night of last week
at the home of Mrs. Frank Mar

Earwood won the door prize.
The next meeting will be at
the home of Mrs. Allen, June 19
at which time new officers will
be installed, and the annual
Sandflower Sister party will be

2nd Lt Larry West is spend
ing two weeks leave at the
home of his parents, Mr. and

commission May 15. After his
leave he will return to Fort Ben
ning where he will be an in
structor.
Greenfield Grange met Satur
day night at the hall with Mr.
and Mrs Donall Baker as hosts.
Mrs. Chub Warren assisted. The
meeting started with potluck
supper at 6:30.
Mr. and Mrs Nathan Thorpe
were elected alternate delegates
to the state grange session at
North Bend in June.
Mrs. John Phillips presented
the grange an award for par
ticipating in the Heart Fund
drive. It was a certificate of
appreciation of distinguished
service and leadership in the
fight against the heart diseases.
It was voted that the Home
Economics Club be allowed to
buy a curtain rod for the stage.
Arthur Allen made an extens
ive report on the progress of the
Boardman Park District He al
so reported that he will no long
er be insurance agent for the
grange, and that in the future
Charles Jones of Lexington will
handle all insurance.
$7.25 was collected to apply
toward a grange scholarship.
Student has to be a grange
member to be eligible for the
scholarship.
The grange voted to sponsor
a fund raising project for the
Babe Ruth baseball league as a
Community Service project.
The next meeting will be June
17, starting at 8 p.m. There will
be no potluck suppers during
the summer months.
Mrs. Harold Baker's kinder
garten class finished their year
last Friday, and she took them
and other pre-schoolers on a
tour of the local post office. Mrs.
Roy Ball, postmaster, served
them refreshments. They then
had dinner at the Nomad res
