The occasion also honored Mrs. Far ras brother In-law and sister, Mr and Mr. Lynn Anderson on their 25th wedding anniver sary, who, with their daughter, were here from New Plymouth, Idaho. Members and their guests will meet at 7:00 p.m. for a pot luck dinner, followed by an evening of entert aln m e n t Guests are always welcomed. Legion to Hold Dance American Legion Post No. 87 will sponsor a public dance at the Heppner Legion Hall Satur day evening, April 8, from 10:00 until 2:00. Roy Quackenbush and his orchestra will furnish the music. Civil Defense Talk Scheduled for Legion An Interesting program is planned for the April meeting of the American Legion and Auxiliary on Monday evening, April 3, nt the Legion Hall. Members and families are asked to meet first for the regular pot luck dinner at 7 p.m. Following the dinner, Sheriff C. J. D. Bauman will present a report on the important issues discussed at the special county conference on Civil Defense, held here Inst Thursday. Of In terest will be reporting of in formation regarding prepared ness for disaster conditions and emergency plans throughout the county. Hollett of Portland, grand master of the Independ ent Order of Odd Fellows of Oregon, will be guest speaker at a Joint meeting of Willows lodge No. 66 and Lexington lodge No. 1GS at the Willows lodge hall in Heppner on Wed nesday evening, April 5. This will be a closed meet ing for members of the order only.
