HEPPNER GAZETTE-TIMES. Boardman Grange To Hold Auction Sale, Dinner April 8 Br MART LEE MARLOW BOARDMAN Greenfield Granpe met Saturday night at the hall, starting with potluck supper at 6:30. Hosts were Mr, and Mrs. Rov Ball and Mrs. Leo Root. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Smith and Mr. and Mrs. M. V. Wolver ton from Columbia Grange. Hermiston, were guests. Smith is master of Columbia Grange. The auction sale sponsored by the grange is to be hold April 8 at the hall, starting with smor gasbord dinner at 5:30 p.m. The sale starts at 7 p.m., and wui include new and used furniture, electrical appliances, carpeting, hand tools and dinette sets and other items. During the lecturer's hour the junior grange entertained with Irish songs, "Mv Wild Irish Kose" anil 'When Irish Kves Are Smiling", and a square dance. "Red River Valley", ac companied on the accordion by the junior matron. Mrs. John Phillios, and on the piano by Mrs. Bert Smith of Hermiston. " At the junior grange meeting the evening was spent finishing 130 Easter baskets to be given to the Valle Vista Nursing Home and the Good Shepherd hospital in Hermiston. Ronald Black FFA instructor, went to Eugene last week with a grouo of boys from the River- side FFA chapter to attend the j iate a convention Maron 'r 18. In the group were Bob Mc Rae, Gene Gollyhorn, Bob Skou bo, Mike Partlow and Chester Phillips. , Mrs. Vernon Russell was host- ess for a pink and blue shower , the first of last week at her home in honor of Mrs. Bob Da vidson (Pat Partlow) of Port land. Co-hostesses were Mrs. Dean King, Mrs. Willard Baker, Mrs. Harold Baker, Mrs. Delmer Hug, Mrs. Rodney Flug and Mrs. Leonard Bedord. There were 36 present. Guests from out of town included Mrs. Mildred Da vidson, Anita Davidson and Dora Sue Viall. mother-in-law and sisters-in-law of the hon oree; Mrs. Shirley Baker and Linda Paoberg. all of Lexington, and Mauieen Devin and Mrs. Bernard Doherty of Heppner. In games played prizes were won by Mrs. Ralph Skoubo and Mrs. Roy Partlow. Mrs. Davidson was assisted in opening her gifts by her moth er, Mrs. Rov Partlow, and her mother-in-law, Mrs. Davidson. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Lilly and children Jimmy, Janet. Jerry and Joyce, and Sandy Mead of La Grande visited four days last week at the home of Mrs. Lil ly's parents, Mr. and Mrs. El- vin Ely. Other visitors the first of last week at the Elv home - were Rev. and Mrs. Arthur Brown and daughters Pat and Ruth of Grass Valley. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Daniels and children Pam, Vickie and Scott spent the spring vacation vis iting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Peterson in Parma, Idaho, ond Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Daniels at Caldwell, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Dante Daltoso and four children, Joe. Danette, Helen and Daniel spent the va cation visiting in Spokane, Wn., at the home of Daltoso's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. John Birmingham. They also spent three days in Portland. Mr. and Mrs. George Mefford were week-end visitors at the home of Mefford's sister, Mrs. Leo Root. Mrs. Root returned home with them to visit this week. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Hadley of Fossil, former residents here, were Sunday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Zearl Gil lespie. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lowe and daughters Tarina. Cindy and Robin of Mosier visited one day last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Rash. Diane Rash returned home with them after visiting in the Lowe home several days. Mrs. Mike Chase and child ren Debbie and Troy of Port land visited Monday at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Seehafer. Mrs. LaVern Partlow had sur gery in the Good Shepherd hos pital in Hermiston last week. Mrs. Leonard Bedord and son Billie were week-end visitors at the home of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Higuera, in Othello, Wash. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bedord of Mis soula, Mont, were again visitors at the Bedord home. Mr. and Mrs. Bill White of Baker were week-end visitors at the home of Mrs. White's par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Don ovan, on their way home from British Columba. Sharon Dono van, student at E.O.C., La Grande, is spending the week at her parents home. Patty Beall of Eugene is vis iting this week at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hayes. The club planned a field trip to Fountain Bar on the Colum bia River for April 30, and en I joyed movies shown by Mrs. I Pete McMurtry. Peggy Taylor was guest of the club.
