Attend National Convention Mr. and Mrs. Milton Morgan and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jen sen left on Sunday for Seattle tor the National Wheat Grow ers Convention. Jepsen Is pres ident of the Oregon Wheat Growers League and Morgan Is a member of the Oregon Wheut Commission. Also attending the convention are Mr. and Mrs. K. T. Martin. Members of the lone Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star mem bers of Locust Chapter met at the hall last Wednesday even ing for a pollock dinner and a work night. The men began work on remodeling the dining room of the building. Recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. l.ouls CarUon and family were his sister, Mrs. Joyce Durst and I.en, Dixie, and llal of Salem. Lcn, who has been spending a holiday leave with his family, was to leave soon for the Neth erlunds, where he will be sta tioned. Topic Club will meet at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Crowcll and family of Riverside, Wash, spent several days here visit ing her brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. John Botts. Gene Crowcll returned home with his cousin for a week's visit. Roy W. Llndstrom underwent major surgery at Pendleton Community hospital last Thurs day morning. Mrs. Elmer Griffith received word on Saturday of the death of her brother, Byron Goodall, of San Francisco. Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Llnd strom arrived home on Friday after spending two weeks In Portland. A number of lone residents drove to Hermlston on Monday to attend the funeral services for Gottfried Hermann, who passed away at the Veteran's Hospital In Walla Walla last Thursday, January 5. Games were played following the meal, and a film, "Riding the. Pulpit", was presented by Rev. George Neeley. The evening ended with com munion service at midnight.
