Holert Herjstrom Is president and Hill Healy Is vice president. Maralee Murray Is secretary-treasurer. Two new directors Heeled were Hob Webb and Norman Nelson. Holdover directors ure Fred Mankln and Art Vance. Holce Fulleton, as past president, goes on as a new director. Unusual Handmade Gifts are Featured At Pine City Party A pan of refrigerator roll dough, ready to work down, was one of the surprise home made gifts exchanged by the members of I'lne City Extension Unit at Its meeting at the home of Mrs. I,eo Ashbeck, Wednes day, December M. Mrs. (jay lord Madison was the giver, and Mrs. George l.uclanl was the re ceiver of this unusual gift. Other gifts Included fancy cookies, candy and cake, as well as other useful Items. Iteclpcs for the edible Rifts and polluck luncheon dishes were exchang ed. Mrs. Willard French demon strated making an attractive Christmas centerpiece using such unlikely materials as an old spike-heeled shoe, spray paint, macaroni, stryofoam and holly leaves. Members each completed a centerpiece during the afternoon. Mrs. Tom Ashbeck presided at the business meHing. Mahoney, Mrs. Ray Ferguson, Mrs. Ed Schaffltz and Mrs. Claude Graham were Joint hostesses for a pleasant aftprnoon and evening of social entertaining at the Mahoney home on Wednesday, December 14. A Christmas luncheon and buffet supper were followed by tables of bridge play. Rooms and tables were beautifully decor ated In keeping with the Christ mas season. High score for the afternoon bridge play was held by Mrs. Dean Hunt, with Mrs. Clarence Rosewall, low. Winning high prize for the evening play was Mrs. Jim Drlscoll, and Mrs. Riley Munkers, low. Parkers Visited Mr. and Mrs. Frank S. Parker! were happily surprised on Mon day afternoon when two of their grandsons visited them. The young men, Tony and Gregory Parker are the soas of Mr. and Mrs. John Parker of Portland. Tony ls home on a short leave from F'ort Polk, La., and on his return will enter Offi cer's Training Corps on the east coast. Gregory begins his term of service for the U. S. Army at Fort Lewis, Wn. In January. While here they also visited at the home of their uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hos kins, Jr., und family. Garden Club Hears Christmas Customs At Luncheon Meeting IONE Tuesday, December 13, was a Joyous day for members of the lone Garden Club, when they met at the home of Mrs. Wallace Wolff for a Christmas luncheon featuring turkey and all the trimmings. Guests pres ent were Mrs. Howard Bryant, Mrs. Jack Sumner, Mrs. Dirk Rinehart and Mrs. Robert Ben son. There was an exchange of gifts and a special prize was presented to the member hav ing the most beautifully wrap ped package. The roll call comprised most of the program, "Christmas Cus toms of a Foreign Country." Mrs. Lloyd Johnson gave an Inter esting talk on the care of the poinsettia. It must be kept at an even temperature and does not survive cold climates, were among pointers given. Hostesses for the next meet ing are Mrs. Omar Rietmann and Mrs. Herman Winter. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Winters visited with the Kuv. and Mrs. Kenneth Robiason and family while they were in Portland to attend the Wheat League meet ing. The party was sponsored by students of Mrs. Judy Goch nauer's home room who Invit ed the other 7th grade class. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wright provided a truck for the hay. ride and their son, Dean, a seventh grader, cleaned the truck, filled It with hay and milked all week to provide milk for the party. Other stu dents In the class also worked to make the evening a success.
