Many remained for the evening meeting of Sons Soucl for the official visitation of the state president. Of special enjoyment was the banner bearers drill. About 50 members and guests registered for the day's activi ties. Visitors from out of the district were Mrs. Kafcr of Mountaineer Lodge No. 119, Glcndalc; Mrs. Darrar and Mrs. Emma Zcmke, both of Juniper No. 22!), Madras; Mrs. Marie Meheulirk. of The Sisters No. 251; Mrs. Sally Young and Mrs, Agnes Hodges of Sunbeam No. 180, llcrmiston. Annual Christmas Party Set by Legion The spirit of Christmas will be evident at the next regular meeting of the American Leg ton and Auxiliary at the Hepp ner hall on Monday evening, December 5. Legion members, (heir families and friends will meet for their annual Christmas party, starting with a potluck dinner at 7:00 p.m. The main meat dish will be furnished by tne organization. Following the dinner, a var lety of Christmas games and entertainment is planned, with special attention given to the children. Short business meet ings will follow, with all mem bcrs urgci to be present. Mrs. Sadie Fairish, Morrow county clerk, Is spending a short time with her son, jack and his iamliy, In Lake Os wego. A clever addendum was giv en by the three noble grands of the district, lone, Lexington and Heppner, in presenting the dis tricts gift to Mrs. Kafcr. Fifty-year or more veteran member's of the district who were presented honors were Mrs. May Gilliam, Mrs. Tena Scott and Mrs. Evelyn Farrens. Holly Lodge No. 13! gave trib ute to them by first placing a golden crown on the head of each and complimenting them on their years of faithful serv ice. Mrs. Cook extended the trib ute to the 45 to 50-year mem bers, Mrs. Mnrv Swanson, Mrs. I.etha Archer, Mrs. Mary Mc Murtry and Mrs. Vlda Hellker, and each was presented a spe cial favor. Reports of the lodges were read by their respective secre taries, Mrs. Pearl Wright, Mrs. Edith Mathews and Mrs. Del pha Jones, with many interest ing community projects report ed. Holly Lodge was compli mented on Its 100 certificate for meeting Its full quota to the IOOF Eye Bank. An Impress I v e candlelight memorial service, by Holly members In white formats, hon ored those of the order who had passed away since the last dis trict meeting. Mrs. Blanche Brown was pre sented a veteran Rebekah jew el by Mrs. Kirk. Assembly Seals of Perfection in unwritten work were present ed by Mrs. Kafcr and Mrs. Kirk In the following members: Mrs. Elsie Avers, Mrs. Elaine Riot mann, Airs. Vida Hellker, Mrs. Florence McMillan, Mrs. Dimp le Munkers, Mrs. Ruth Robin son, Mrs. Edna Fetsch and Mrs. Lucille Parrish. Eighteen past chairmen of former district meetings were present and were given fitting tribute by Sans Soucl members. Following an instructive and informative hour on the ritual istic work bv the state presi dent, exemplification was done under her direction by the Lex ington lodge. The following officers were elected to serve the district for the coming year: Mrs. Jones, chairman: Mrs. Hamlett, vice chairman." Mrs. LaVerne Hen derson, secretary; Mrs. Fetsch, teasurer.
