The baby was very 111 a week ago, her heart completely slopped during surgery and had to be massaged manually through an opening In the chest. She has recovered nicely and they expect to be able to bring her home In about a week. The baby bus been un der observation at the Univer sity of Washington Medical School for hIx weeks for a very rare disease. The disease has finally been diagnosed as Gly cugen Storage Disease or Von Gcrkc's Disease, an ailment of the liver, which can be control led bv diet and medicine. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Doher tv returned Monday evening fiom a vacation through Cen tral Oregon to Cactus Lake, the Oregon Caves and on to the redwoods and Crescent City, Calif. They made the return trip home by the Oregon Coast. Mrs. Doherty's mother. Ted Toll returned to his base at Fort Lewis, Wn., last week after a two we e k s fur lough. During his stay, ho vis ited his mother, Mrs. Merna Toll; a brother, Leonard Toll and family; a sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Don Griffith, Spray, and a brother, Chuck Toll. Ways of earning extra money were discussed at the Ladies Aid Society of Community Church meeting last week at the home of Mrs. Glen Carpen ter. Bread, but ter and milk are served with all meals. The Riverside Pirates scored a big triumph here last Friday when they beat the Weston Ti gers 57-1S in the football game. Coach Dan Daltoso called it a great team effort. Chet Phillips passed for two more, and Mike ran for two more, and Mike Partlow scored three touch downs. Others scoring were Bob McCrae with a 60-yard run, and David Schmeder and Bob Bu chanan in a 45-yard pass-run play. Duane Lamb and McCrae accounted for the extra points. CEORCE SICARD Sicords Are Honored On 40th Anniversary At Boardman Home BOARDMAN Fifty friends and relatives were present re cently to help Mr. and Mrs George Sicrad celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary at a lawn tuncneon at their home. Hosts for the affair were their daughter, Maxinc Sicard of Los Angeles, Calif., their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sicard. and their son-in- law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Gunnar Skoubo. One of the gifts received was a beautiful three tiered square cake topped with the numeral "40", which was made by Mrs. Albert Schunk. Out of town guests were Mrs. Sicard's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Perry Parks of Lebanon; her sister, Mrs. Al ma Russ of Albany; her sister-in-law, Mrs. Georgia Hart of Hubbard; and her niece and family, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Roley and sons Kenneth and Steven of Canby. Mr. and Mrs. Sicard were married May 22, 1926, at Van couver, Wash., and came to Boardman to live in 1946. The celebration had been scheduled earlier in the summer, but Mrs. Sicard had to go to the hospit al for emergency surgery, so It was postponed to last month. Mrs. Mary Adams was releas ed from the Pendleton Commu nity hospital after a two week confinement following eye sur gery. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Isom ana their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Eppen bach, were week-end hunters at Monument. They also visited Mr. Isom's cousin, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Musgrave. Isom return ed home with a two point buck.
