We've noticed that In the last few years. Interest in school clubs und organizations has declined a great deal. Our clubs could be very worthwhile if we had more members who were In terested In getting something done. And improvements must come through the students. This is the time of the year when the clubs are getting reorganized, so let's get out und recruit new members. There are clubs open to all of us, especially the girls. lly Joining some of these we will get a better chance to know everyone, along with promotion of more activities and school spir it. Let's all try to make this year the most successful of all. Respect Lacking? Do the underclassmen resect the upperclassmen in HHS? As seniors we see that there la little or no respect In this school. When we were freshmen we waited for seniors to leave the as semblies first without being asked to. We are also sure that every year a senior writes an editorial similar to this one complaining of such respect. Well, as seniors It is our privilege to do so and hope that something will be done to Improve this matter. Show a little respect! TO THE EDITOR To the students of Journalism II: Dear friends: It Is mv sincere hope that you who have taken over the job of publishing the HEIIISCH realize the challenge, the responsibili ty, and the need for a good school paper. For the sake of your own education and the ed ucation of the readers of the HEIIISCH I hope thut you will strive to make this year better than last and better than all the years In the history of our school paper. Enclosed Is a check that I know will be well spent for that "special need" that will arise sometime this year. My sincere thanks to Mrs. Dick and this course. I know what It has done for me see what you can make it do for you! Sincerely yours, Jim Barclay Chorus to Rehearse The HHS chorus will meet every Friday during the second half of "F" period. The group of approximately 20 girls will hold section rehearsals at 12:30 several times a week. The chor us Is under the direction of Mrs. Kachel Dick. A man expects a lot from his car. Good loo that are a constant source of pride. Performance that won't let him down. A quiet, authoritative ride. Integrity of workman' ship. Unique features that add to theioy of driving. A car that pampers and protects the ones he loves. It taes a lot of car to satisfy a man. Mercury does it. ..28 different ways! CE NOTI ALL WATER USERS Of Willow and Rhea Creeks and Tributaries With extended dry season, we have an extreme stock water shortage on all reaches of the streams. Many users can not utilize their fall pastures without wa ter in the creek. As these are stock wa ter decreed streams and irrigation sea son ends on the majority by September 1, and October 1 on most of the balance, this should remove all questions as to the preference for stock water. I would like users' cooperation on dis continuance of all irrigation for the sea son, so that the small amount of water in the creeks can make its way down stream. Much stock is coming in early off fall ranges, and presents a drastic need for the limited water supply. If any questions arise, I may be con tacted at Pendleton 276-7111. Jerry Haines, water master, or Boyd Hadden, assistant, will be contacting individuals in the next few days. Thanks for all co operation. JERRY F.
