Hod streamers were thread ed through white puper bolls which centered each table, and the backdrop at the speakers' table featured a huo musical score of silver notes on a rod background with a lure bell In the center, and the words, "School Hells ItliiKln'", below. Harlan MeCurdy, master of ceremonies, started proceedings by ringing a small school boll. Involution was given by Fa ther Kaymond Heard, and Suor Intendont of Schools Dave Pot ior Introduced school board and advisory board members who were present. Mrs. Clyde Allstott, president of the Klementary 1TA. extend ed words of welcome, and Mrs. Idiclii'l Dick, regional vice pres ident of the Oregon Congress of Parents arid Touchers, told of a 3-countv ITA workers meeting here Wednesday. Alan Martin, clcmcntury prin cipal, Introduced each of the tenchors on his stuff and asked n siMintuneous question of each, relative to the teacher's hobby or Interests. Toastmuster McCurdv added a bit of llghthcartod entertain ment to the enjoyment of the crowd when he sang a humor ous song, without accompani ment. Friends said that It was the first time they had ever heard him sing In public. He was an Immediate hit. Each teacher was brought to the reception as a guest of dif ferent parent who acted as hosts to Introduce them to oth ers. Bright corsages of fresh fall flowers were presented each teacher by the lone Garden Club, and name tags helped them become acquainted with the parent. Officiating at the 7 p.m. aerv Ire was Rev. Edwin Derrick be fore an altar which was decor ated with bankets of pink and white gladiolus and white can delabra holding tall pink tap ers. The bride, escorted to the al tar by her brother Tommy Schoolcraft of Portland, wore an Kmplre style gown of white lace over satin. Her shoulder length veil of white lace was held In place by a crown of satin and sequins. She carried a bridal bouquet of white carnations. Maid of honor was the bride's sister, Mary Schoolcraft of Port land, who wore a long fc'mplre style dress of pink lace over crepe with a burgundy velvet bow. She wore a white head veil hold in place by a pink satin bow. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Sand ra Wright of Portland, sister of the bride; Mrs. Ruth Ann Car ey of Richland, Wn., and Miss Joan Browning of Klnzua. They wore street length dressed of pink lace over crepe In an Em pire style with the burgundy velvet bow and while head veils held by- pink satin bows. They all had white accessories and carried nosegays of rosebuds backed with lace matching the bride's gown. The nosegays wore made by Mrs. Ida Blanch ard of Brookings. Rob ert Hulett of Klnzua carried the rings on a white satin pillow. The bride's grandmother wore a royal blue knit suit with white accessories and the groom's mother chose a green knit suit with brown accessories. The bride's mother appeared In a red suit. All had corsages of white carnations. Wedding music was played by Mrs. Robert Kelso who also accompanied Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Freeman who sang 'The Twelfth of Never" and "Lord Bless This Hour." Imedlately after the ceremo ny, the young couple greeted their many friends and receiv ed their congratulations at the reception held In the church basement where the pink and white three-tiered wedding cake centered the serving table. Af ter sharing the first slice, the cake was cut and served by Mrs. Warren Jobe of Fossil. The cof fee was served by Mrs. Harlan Denton of Prinevllle and the punch was served by Mrs. Verne Klrby of Fossil. The guest book was cared for by Miss Cheryl Gubser of John Day with the gift table in charge of Miss Verlna French of Hoppncr and Miss Sharon Hubbell of Klnzua. The bride is a graduate of Wheeler High school In Fossil and the groom of Brookings High school. They will make their home In Coos Bay where Verlin Is employed by the West Coast Telephone Company. Meetings will then follow the same schedule as last year, on the first and third Tuesday evenings of each month. Members and guests will gather for a potluck dinner at 7:00 p.m., with the usual good variety of entertainment to fol low. Guests are Invited to attend. ESTARL Awards Available To Youth In Religious Fields Mrs. Dick Wilkinson, state fund chairman of Eastern Star Training Awards for Religious leadership, began the first of a series of fund-raising visits this past week with visits to Ar cadia Chapter No. 84 In Fossil and Condon Chapter No. 23. Known as ESTARL, this fund contributes to religious training of students by giving awards each year to young men and women In need of financial as sistance In their senior year In college or to complete graduate work. Students need not be a Ma sonic or Eastern Star afflllatae to apply. In faet, the majority of the awardees have been non fraternal people In the 10 years the project has been sponsored In Oregon. Mrs. Wilkinson has a district of 14 O.E.S. chapters to visit personally In Eastern Oregon, and directs the activities of nine other committee members whose job It Is to personally contact each of the 167 chap ters in the state to raise funds for these awards.
