Dick Skoubo is at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Skoubo, after being em ployed in Spokane, Wash, for the summer. Mr. and Mrs. Garnet Barrett of Mesa, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Thompson of Hepp ner visited Monday at the home of Mrs. Russell Miller. Mrs. Uo Root wus hostess for Ladies Aid Society of Commu nity Church last week at her home, with Mrs. Frank Marlow co-hostess. Mrs. Emery Lyons led the devotional hour. Final arrangements were made for sending boxes of clothing to the Rescue Mission In Walla Walla, Wash. The next meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Glen Carpen ter October 5. Mrs. Glen Carpenter was hon ored on the occasion of her birthday Wednesday of last week when a group of friends held a surprise luncheon party for her during the noon hour. As part of the Hearing Conservation Program, Maternul and Child Health Sec tion, Oregon State Board of Health, a qualified audlomctrist will test the hearing acuity of kindergarten, first, third, tilth and seventh grades, as well as referrals from any other grade made by teachers or the nurse. Hearing testing will be done in Ileppner schools on Tuesday, October 11. and lone, Boardman and Irrigon schools on Wednes day, October 12.
