Arthur Sabin at 8 p.m. The Home Kconomlc Club of Greenfield Grants met last Wednesday at the home of Mr. Walter Wyu. with Mr. Frank Mat low a co hostess. I.unch wa served at 12:30. Mr. Kollin Bishop was a guest. Committee appointed for the February 18 card party were Mr. Joe Tatone and Mr. Haye. the. party to be at the Tatone home. For the March 4 party, the committee will be Mr. Ben Donovan and Mr. W. G. See-hafi-r. with the party at the Donovan home. A dutch auction brought $2.85. Announcement wn made that Georre Fleihman from the So cial Security office In La Grande would be at the grange hall the evening of February 19 to talk on Medicare at 7:30 He will al so be there at 5:30 to sign up anyone t5 or over who ha not previously been signed. The public I Invited. There will be a pot luck dinner at 6:30. The Mothers Club of Board man Grade school met Thursday afternoon of la.it week at the schoolhouse, with Mrs. Harold Baker and Mrs. John Brandt as hostesses. Mrs. Bob Sleard as sisted. For the program hour the first nnd second grades sang a num ber of songs. Mrs. Slcurd reported that there would be no kindergarten In Boardmnn this year, and those who wished could send children to the Irrlgon school which started February 14. The club voted to assist with the community auction sale sponsored by the Boardmnn Garden Club April 2. Funds are to be used for the city park In the new townslte. Mrs. Leonard Bedord an nounced the Medicare meeting at the grange hall February 19 at 7:30 p.m. A committee was appointed to plan a baked food sale and pick the date. They are Mrs. Vernon Russell. Mrs. Bedord and Mrs. Slcurd. The Busy Bakers 4 II cooking club met last Thursday at the home of their leader, Mrs. Ar nold Hoffman. Diane Rash and Helen Cook demonstrated how to make a green salad, and Charmalee Flock and Glenda Moore made biscuits. These were later Berved to the group Mrs. Claud Coats received word that her grandson, Jim Mallery, son -of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Mallery of Seattle, Wash., was selected as the outstand ing boy In the senior class of Mount Rainier High school It Seattle and Is to attend the Lib eral Arts Seminar at Hood's Canal over the week-end. Each year the University of Washing ton selects the outstanding boy and girl senior to attend the seminar, which Includes lee tures, banquets, etc. Young Mal lery stayed at the home of his grandmother last summer while employed at a local service sta tion. I Sharon Donovan, student at E.O.C., La Grande, spent the week-end at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Don ovan. She has as her house guest, Sue Winters, Chenowith, also a student at E.O.C. Recent Pendleton visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Bob Stevens and family. They spent a night with her folks. Mr. and Mr. Bill Brlnda. Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Graves a week ago were Mr. and Mr. Walt Hill. Jr.. and family of Pendleton. Mr. and Mr. Don Heliker of lone. Mrs. John Graves of Hardman and Mr. and Mr. Harold Feck of Upper Rhea Creek. Two week ago Cecil McDan lei accompanied Chuck I'hegley of lleppner to the Bend area where they spent a few days felling timber. They spent one night with the Scott Reed fam ily of Bend. Knroute home they viitlted with Mr. and Mr. Jim Shelton and family of Mitchell. Dallas Crabcr recently helped his neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Maley, move to Parkland Alber ta. Canada, where they have purchased a ranch. Tarkland Is about SO miles fro:n Calgary. Dallas wa much Impressed with that country. He flew home and was met in Pendleton by Mrs. Craber. Due to a dense fog, It was sometime before the plane could land. Mr. and Mrs. Klnard McDan lei of lleppner have purchased the Roy Knlghten house. They haven't moved yet. but do spend some time there. Mrs. Everett llarshman accompanied Mrs. McDaniel to Hardman last Sun day. College students home for the weekend were Sharon Hams from Pacific Beauty School in Portland. Kenny Wright from Blue Mt. College In Pendleton, accompanied by a guest, Donny Capon from Eastern Oregon col lege In La Grande. Spending the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Sam McDaniel was their grandson, Tom Mnhon from Idaho City. Idaho. Tom al so visited with the Cecil McDan lei family on Sunday, and Mel vln McDaniel was also a Sun day caller. Mrs. Albert Wright was In Pendleton last Tuesday and Thursday for medical attention.
